I came to this conclusion. agree or disagree if you want or tell us who your ur top 5 would be.
1 Andrew McLeod
2 Darren Jarman
3 Mark Riccuito
4 Tony Modra
5 Shaun Rehn
On that basis, Jarman wouldn't count. He came over as an established star, the crows did very little in developing him. But if you mean top 5 players based only on their performances for the club, it gets tricky. Does Edwards' 300 games top what Rehn or Jarman did in much fewer games?
For me, it's thus:
1: McLeod. 2 flags, 2 norms, B&F winner, 350 games.
2: Riccuito. Great captain, all Australian year in year out. Only number 2 based on McLeod playing in 2 flags and Riccuito not having a great GF in 1998.
3: Hart. Marshalled the defense for a decade. Not a standout, but never poor in over 300 games.
4: Jarman. Won more games for the crows that anyone else, although a shortened career.
5: Edwards. Just ahead of Goodwin and Rehn. More consistent over a longer period of time.
Goodwin misses out because he wasn't quite the brilliant player that some were, and didn't play quite as long at a high level as the others. Rehn simply not enough games to get into my top 5.
