Well despite previously indicating that if Freo won the game would be at Etihad, the news coming out of Melbourne is that the Geelong v Freo game is now going to be at the MCG.
WTF?
I'll eat my words if they get over 60,000 at the MCG but WTF are they doing?
Not only would they have to get over 60,000 to justify it they now lose one of their chances to have a final at Etihad which they're obligated to otherwise they have to compensate Etihad Stadium.
I'll be there but would have much preferred 50k at Etihad with a near full house as opposed to possiblly a smaller crowd at the G and a half empty stadium.

Apprantly all the remaining finals matches will be played at the M.C.G because of the 4 Victorian teams finishing in the top 4 and therefore having home finals.

Geelong (Vic team) would surely want a home final so the Pod can play (only gonna get a game at Skilled)... but the MCG is not the home ground...
Uhh... if Etihad gets a final...??? I have no answer to that, as I will likely shoot myself in the face...

Don't worry MP, I'm pretty sure your face is going to stay intact.

Geelong fans know this will be there last chance to walk up to a game for the year (will be a full house against the pies for the prelim and GF), so they are expecting a bigger crowd. Also, Geelong have more MCC members than Saints, hence the move once it was the cats rather than the saints.
And as others have said, don't reward the dome for that surface, give em nothing.

Trying to work out where to get my ticket for Friday night as there will be plenty of room.
The website was going to give me premium tickets in the first level of the Ponsford stand so I might stop off at Ticketek on the way to the bus stop this arvo to get something a bit more central.
Mind you I hope catering improves, despite being on the wing on the bottom level last week where 100% of seats were full only abou half the facilities were open at ground level.

whats annoys me about the finals is if barry halls punches harry o in teh chest during a regular season game i bet u he gets a week...
and just like the 05 season when he shouldve been out for the GF for striking it gets overlooked.
just so it makes it more exciting for the dogs v swans game etc.
a load of BS!!!

Agreed Johno, it seems as though the umpires disipline book goes out the windows during finals time.
What about Cam Mooney on Friday night, when he told the umpire dirctly that he lost them the game because he payed Mooneys tackle late in the game a push in the back free kick. The umpire didn't take any notice of him. At any other time, any other day of the week that would of been a 50 metre penelty, perhaps two and/or Mooney could of been fined/reported for abuse. Not this time.

To be honest mate I think the ump did fairly well, he knew the situatuin of the match and didnt make more of it for something thats really BS. But hey they never have shown the slight bit of consistancey so what were we all really expecting.
This weeks games: Geelong and Sydney to be winners.

If we had the team that could take out the premiership it'd be great to win but we dont so I'm hoping Geelong win because they're the only team that can stop the horror of a potential Collingwood or St Kilda flag.

I reckon they might lose to the Bulldogs. Not all that impressive in beating Carlton at home for mine.

Kidding mate surely! Didnt swear at the ump once. Just told him what he thought of the situation.
If the umpire had givena 50m against mooney then at that time, i wouldnt have watched another second of football for the year

I've seen 50s given away for alot less than that this year.
