Ok so i see a few selection problems (good problems) this week.
I think Mcleod and Bock will come back in and maybe Mackay..
If so, who will be the unlucky ones ....
For mine.
Mcleod for armstrong
bock for Stevens maybe.. tough call, davis should stay.
and if mackay plays, symes might be the unkucky one.
good problems to have though, if crows play with confidence and attack, they may be around the mark, they can't win though.

Stevens best game on weekend since his concussion but do agree Davis has to stay in. Rutton struggled on weekend and normally struggles against mooney but maybe the pod will be a better match up. MAybe bocky plays SANFL but we dont want him thinking gold coast is the place for him to be. Armstrong is the easy out. With our luck someone else will get injured at training. be interesting to see thurs nt selection.

You don't drop 3 players and bring in 3 underdone players when you're going up against the best team in the league.

I agree with that attitude ... Realistically I don't think it will happen though.

not all 3 will come back in as they wont risk further injury to them. Also think if they remain unchanged and Knights gets through an Eagles game and impresses, that means next week all 4 could be included
Doughty could find himself on the outer
Symes wont miss out
Armstrong the only likely omission.

Yeah it's hard to go past only Armstrong being omitted (and even then he could probably feel a little hard done by).
Probably don't want to go too tall or slow against the Cats either, will be an interesting for the selection committee to try and get their match ups right against the best in biz.

Agreed CP if the cats had Mooney, Pods and Hawkins playing then you can make a case for Bock to play this week even if not 100% ready, however Stevens could play the 3rd tall!
The one thing Craig will do is make a hard call, if this means Jeansch, Henderson and Davis are ommitted also then he will make that call if he sees fit.
Supporters/armchair coaches let the soft/emotional side get in the way of their decision make eg, davis cannot be dropped as he is a young promising defender. When infact the coach(who knows best) may see his development to date as great, but can work on things in the SANFL until they get another shot.

Well said FS, as supporters (of any club, at any level) and members of the public we can have opinions, but often they focus around 1 or 2 individuals and 1 point in time, rather than the entire 22 and a period from current - whenever.
It's why despite the flak they cop, even the worst of coaches don't really make too many huge blues with their selections or moves - I think they seem to get hung or lauded more for the number (or lack thereof) of great moves they're perceived to make.

I know I am not supposed to be here and that this post will be deleted but I hope that Adelaide go conservative and put the old hands in the team instead of the promising younger players who I believe have played a big part in your recent resurgence.
Geelong are playing thier third game in twelve days and the last thing we need is to play against young, hungry players who we don't know much about. Bring in the guys we know we have covered and who will be easier to catch.
Thank you.
regards,
REB

I have no problem you posting here REB aslong as you leave your 'Geelongs success arrogance' at the door and post like the one above
Agreed everyone likes to see the promising youngsters play but Mcleod, Bock and Mckay have been solid contributors before injury. If it was Doughty, Reilly etc you would like to think the youngsters would stay in ahead of them.

The boys on 5AA made a reference along the lines of "Bring Bocky back through the SANFL and you might as well hand him a surfboard" or words to that effect.
Now whether they seriously believe it or were joking, Im not sure, BUT ..
I've always been a massive believer that reserves football shouldn't be beneath ANY player, and I think it says a lot about an individual in how they receive selection in a lower grade .. For all we know Bock would be fine with it (so my comments aren't in regard to him personally).

Yes Davis should and prob will, due to no other fact than he has been replaced by a better player. This doesnt reflect his performance and improvement in the time he has spent in the team.

Why would you drop Davis after he kept Kennedy goalless?
In: McLeod
Out: Armstrong
Bock in the SANFL.

Spot on, if a change is made that is the only one. Bock has hardly impressed in any of his games this year.
