Next Power Coach

With Laidley signalling his non intention to coach Power, who will get the job?
Who will coach for a max of $400,000 which is all the Power can afford?
Will Port think outside the square for a change or will they look within again  & name Matthew Primus?
A name to think about is Chris Scott who's currently at Freemantle who's wife i believe is an Adelaide girl. :)

I would say Primus as caretaker and see how he goes till the end of the season. Then select the permanent coach at seasons end.

Pity that Hardwick is already taken he would have been a great choice too.

Your good NM. Yes Laidley apparentley being touted as next West Coast Eagles Coach and returning to Perth or going back to Melbourne for his Business interests and an Assistants job or a gig in the Media then Chris Scott is the one they have reportedly spoken to already according to some "very good" sources. The rumour about losing $400K from their Football Department next year, is also doing the rounds and means only a non profile Coach could get the gig. Being Assistant at Freemantle at the moment and his wife from Adelaide and Port not being able to shell out much coin, I think you might be on the mark. Primus apparently will ge the caretaker job from tomorrow though.

For mine, Primus to do the rest of the year, and keep the job if he goes alright.

Otherwise Scott or Sanderson.

Judging by the Thinderbirds GF score atm, maybe could consider signing up Jane Woodlands onto their Coaching panel ;)

I know mate. It was a terrible attempt at humor by me.

I'll get my coat.......

Pretty happy with Primus. I wouldn't be upset if he got the gig permanently if he plays positive footy.

I'm not so sure about Primus as our long term coach. I don't mind him as caretaker, but i'd prefer one C Scott, Montgomery, Sanderson, Hinkley or O'Donnell from next year onwards.

Laidley is one smart fellow. If he takes over as caretaker job he doesn't have the full mandate to impose his will and vision for the team and if the results go the way most think they will then he gets shown the door and is just about unemployable.

By staying in the background at Port at this time he keeps his name high on the lists for prospective jobs and there is strong talk about Laidley possibly going to West Coast as Woosha has absolutley no idea.

regards,

REB

I don't care who the next Port coach is as long as they toughen up and start playing some football that is capable of winning games.
