Seven losses in a row.
The situation is untenable.
Choco has to go.
Now.

A sad day.
Agree Choco has to go.
Hopefully his name isn't dragged through mud on the way out. He did great things at our club. I'll always look back on him favourably.

Bloody hell, what do we do?
I dont want to be the club that sacks its coach. Ala Richmond ( Wallace ) Adelaide ( Ayres / Shaw ) St.Kilda ( Thomas ) but there is little doubt that Williams will not see out 2011 as our Senior coach and as much as I have defended him in his reign, nor should he.
Yes, we have several top notch players in the wings. Tredrea, Gray, Harlett, Boak, Krakouer etc do impact upon our performance but even with them in the side I do not see us being that much better with our current system and system is dictated by the coaches not the playing group.
IMO, I would let Mark see 2010 out and discuss 2011 over the months of October / November and than speak with Laidley and see if he is set for a 3 year deal, if not, seek out an alternative.
Schit!

Common denominator with those blokes was their time was up and had to go.
Much like Choco.
Backed him all these years, too. But didn't support his reappointment last year. The board, in its infinite wisdom overlooked Hardwick, a decision we may rue for years to come.
His recent comments concern me. Has he already mentally quit? Is he just biding his time until his contract expires? If so, he should be sacked immediately. Can't afford to waste any more time.
For mine, the club has lacked strong leadership since Bucky left. We've been a reactive, ad-hoc club ever since - the guernsey change is a classic example. Need to be ruthless like Weber was with Ebert in '87.
Would only have Laidley as caretaker coach if Williams was sacked mid-season. But that is unlikely to happen. No way would I give him a three-year deal as head coach.
Cannot let the current malaise fester any longer.
Otherwise we might as well just withdraw from the comp in 2011...

If we start afresh now we might be peaking or getting ready to when we return to Adelaide Oval.

Current form suggests we're only a shot against West Coast at home in round 20.
Wooden-spoon grand final.
Next few weeks could be very painful...

Hope so. If they beat the Crows and lose every other game for the rest of the year, I won't mind.

And that is one of the sad things about many supporters. Reputedly winning two games against the Crows and losing all the rest is acceptable. I don't think so! The bar should be far higher than that.

If I played AFL and had lost 8 in a row, I wouldn't be out at 5am paro trying to pick up!
Some interesting stories floating about...
