and the media contingent that were there...

Cracking jokes about not being able to see Black people in the dark might have been funny in 1975 but most of us have moved on. Dinosaur is right. The timing is terrible as well just one week after the Andrew Johns gaffe. Micheal Long said earlier this week that the AFL did not possess the high moral ground on this issue and sadly dumba55 Brown has proved him right.

It is the likes of dimwits of Mal Brown and Andrew Johns mentality that continue to think that a "joke" is ok. You know the old saying, when a joke is about someone it is only funny if that person thinks so?

Mal Brown is a dinosaur and his way of thinking should be extinct too.

Everything he has coming in the next few days, weeks is deserved.

As a descendant of southern Europeans who has been mistaken many times for an indigenous Aussie and who has had a few choice nicknames in the past, his comments personally don't worry or upset me because they were jokes (yes, granted in poor taste). He's just stupid enough to say them in public, especially at a luncheon where they will be reported in the media.

Yeah, you're right, Mal should be allowed to make racist comments in private in front of 100 or more people if he likes.

I couldn't believe what I saw on the News tonight. A comment from none other than Syd Jackson condemning Brown for his comments.

Who's Syd Jackson you may ask? He was the Carlton aboriginal footballer who claimed racial comments as the reason he belted Collingwood's Lee Adamson in the 1970 2nd Semi. He got off and played in the Grand Final.

Twenty years later he admitted he lied. Of all the aboriginal players they could have got a comment from they went to a cheat and a liar who who racism to benefit himself.

A racist comment is a racist comment whether it is said in public or private, to one person or 100 people.
