Good work One Eyed, I was thinking about a thread like this last night.

He's no signing at this point but is Fremantle's Byron Schammer a chance to end up on the Gold Coast?
He's certainly out of favour with Freo at the moment but as a proven AFL player, he'd be a good pick up for the Lifeguards.

Are rumors and speculation allowed? I'd assume so, but with the 16 y.o. girl and the st kilda players it wasn't...

They get up to one from each club right? So lets get a list together and start speculating.

Adelaide -
Brisbane - Michael Rischitelli
Carlton -
Collingwood -
Essendon - I was thinking Michael Hurley, but apparently he just resigned so perhaps Angus Monfries
Fremantle - Byron Schammer
Geelong - Gazza Jnr
Hawthorn - Campbell Brown
Melbourne -
North Melb -
Port Adel - Nathan Krakouer
Richmond - Dustin Martin
Sydney -
St Kilda - Jason Gram
Western Bulldogs - Ryan Griffen
West Coast -

From the Age

AS MELBOURNE toiled to a heavy loss at Geelong on Saturday afternoon, in Queensland injured Demons forward Ricky Petterd was a surprising onlooker at the Gold Coast's VFL match.

His appearance at the match at Southport against Collingwood has heightened speculation that the out-of-contract forward, recruited from Broadbeach, could be thinking of a move home.

Given the 21-year-old's roots he has long been assumed a likely target of the Gold Coast franchise. Strengthening that assumption is the fact he is emerging as a difficult forward capable of playing taller than his height.

Geelong - Mark Blake

They'll be in need of a quality ruckman, and with Ottens and Tomahawk moving from tall foward to ruck and both of them able to hold the rucks down, he might realise the writing is on the wall and start looking elsewhere.

Or, maybe Trent West or the third string ruckman, the man with two surnames (Dawson Simpson) might be looking for a new home.

Along the same lines:

Carlton - Sean Hampson

From what I understand he's a Qld boy and might want to return to the Coast.

However, in saying all this, I have no idea if any of the above mentioned players are out of contract.

Dustin Martin currently in contract negotiations to keep the hungry GC and WS away :D

Nah, mate. Just thought he could be a chance to go considering his off-field dramas and poor form this year.

I understand people get sucked in by newspaper reports all the time, but getting sucked in by not reading them correctly??

The only way Martin could end up at the GC is by being traded. He is contracted to Richmond until the end of 2011 so he will definitely not be at the Lifeguards... He may end up at GWS though, but hopefully he realises there is a light at the end of the tunnel at richmond!
