If one of these two doesn't win a Brownlow in their careers, injury permitting, I'd be very surprised.

If we can keep one we just might keep both. I note this morning 'Tiser reports Gray's managment tabled an expected deal on Wednesday, good timing after a BOG in the Showdown.
Boak is a future skipper at Alberton, probably after Cassisi ( along with Chaplin and Salopek being in the mix ) so any talks between the club and player would no doubt involve some talk of leadership roles.

Both will stay and I'm starting to get the feeling that the expansion teams aren't getting squat. It is a bit of worry though with Essendon sniffing around as opposed to a GC or West Sydney.

Gray and Boak are both underrated locally IMO. By both the media and the average footy supporter. These guys are class acts and real guns in the making.

Agree hondo, I certainly rate them both very, very highly.
Boak is all class, he does not have a penetrating kick but he has great skills when he does dispose it. I liken him to Bartel. Can be in and under, can be outside, can kick goals and needs to be watched all the time. Will be a future leader at Alberton.
Gray is fast becoming my favourite and it now appears we have got a training regime his body can handle for now and as his body matures ( much like Hartlett ) we can add more to his work load. Fantastic hands above and below his body and real goal sense. Class act who has big things in front of him. He could be a 50 goal forward as well as run through the middle.

I disagree. Who underrates them ?? Boak is constantly talked up as 'something special' which is deserved and most knowledgable football people rate Gray highly and admit that his suspect body is what has held him back over the last couple of years. But underrated, I doubt it. Well not by me anyway. Add Hartlett to that list too cos if he can string a few together he'll be top notch...

Gray underrated you have to be kidding. Last night on Always Awful Cornsey reckoned that 'he's as good as Ablett if he can get his body right'. Pretty handy having that excuse to have up your sleeve when you know darn well he's nowhere near the great man. Underrated? Fair dinkum!

I agree REB, Robbie Gray is nowhere near Gary Ablett and if he's as good as him he still got a fair bit of devolping to do.

Gray isn't mentioned as much as I think he should in the local media IMO
Also, something came up on here a while back about Rucci's top 50 players and I recalled all this laughter about Gray being included?
Dunno, maybe it's just me. Probably if he was a Crows player he'd have a higher profile.

Dont rekon either player is under rated. Most knowledgeable supporters can see 2 stars in the making. Also i rekon Rucci was doing a bit of spriuking for Port in todays tiser. The message was "you wont get a trade to victoria and you dont want to go to the gold coast so sign with port". Even the photo of a smilling Boak was a bit of salesmanship. cheers Rucci.

That BS hondo...... if he played more than 2 games in a row he'd have a higher profile.....

stupid call really. However when he was drafted he was likened to ablett in terms of the way he played. Still a long way off though i agree

Gray was likened to Ablett when first drafted, and when comparing him to Ablett after 4 or 5 years into his career, his record is quite favourable.
However, he's still a hell of a long way off Ablett is now, and the chances of him ever becoming as good as Ablett are obviously remote.
If Gray can develop his "motor" and play large parts of his game in the midfield, he will be very handy in years to come, however.

What do you expect? He was either copping a tag or not getting any supply from a very average side. Has Gray EVER copped a tag in his career?

Doughty is the current first choice tagger in the Adelaide line up isn't he?

Boak in his mannerisms and style, reminds me of Joel Sellwood
