Today's blockbuster between Collingwood and Carlton on delay, we get it here in Ceduna at 2:30 not sure about anywhere else?

Why have the rights if you aren't going to show case the product, put it all on Pay TV I say!

on delay in Adelaide ... 3pm start.

Been like that since they got the rights back. Last 4 years, a double header LIVE on Fox every Sunday. Stuff 7.

it is going to get worst with the next rights, if it makes a billion dollars. their could be friday night delayed games, sunday delayed games and monday night delayed games. but if TV pay that much to get the rights. they gotta package it away they can get their money back. its a very commercial game these days

The AFL have Telstra as a sponsor. They WANT people to use Telstra so Telstra continue to sponsor the AFL. Telstra own Foxtel. Fox play live games, 7 doesn't. It's a conspiracy.

They clearly don't care about showing the games live at all. And its not just sunday games, what about friday night games aswell?, why don't they show them live? its crap

They don't care at all, they just care about ratings and revenue. I really hope the AFL puts in a clause that the next rights holders have to show all games live where its possible to do so.

Could not believe it. Thought i would come home from jnr footy with my son and watch Carlton v Collingwood, a bigger rivial you could not meet. When i switched the box on and seen the bloody V8s i was spewn. Why not show it live and the give us the dockers v eagles. I cant recall the last time we have seen the 2 WA teams play each other. I dont have Fox so dont get to see it, they have a great rivalry going with some huge bust ups.

Instead a grabbed me lad and went watched a u18s game of footy.

Agree. Since the broadcast rights were split back in '02(?) I can hardly remember an afternoon game from WA apart from Crows or Power.

Telstra own 50%. Newscorp own 25% Consolidated Media own 25%.

No they don't. I miss the sunday where you could put the feet up and know you would see 2 games on a Sunday one live and the other usually delayed. Channel 7 screwed us all. I will not watch a football game on 7. If i want scores AFL.com or here I will not watch a game on that channel anymore.

Just out of curiosity, Port/Cows games aside, did we ever get Friday night games live? I can't ever recall seeing them live.

We used to get all the Friday night games live in the Riverland.

Really? Was that only when Channel 9 had it? Or did it extend back to when 7 had it first time around?

Haven't had it live since 7 took over the rights this time around. Prior to that, we always had Friday night live footy.

Try being a Lions fan. Only game I get to watch is whenever they play Port or the Crows, plus ONE friday night game a year. I can't afford to fork out money for Fox just to get footy, although I'd love to! I should switch my allegence to Collingwood or Essendon (that's not even a funny!).

or remotely useful -rd 1 against the bulldogs wasnt shown at all and against carlton was delayed

If channel 7 really did care about promoting AFL they should make the decision NOT to show the St Kilda game next Monday night.

No I don't think we did, I can recall watching Burkes Backyard re-runs on Nine instead of live football. It's not only the delayed telecast that gives me the shits it's also the programming, just about every round this year on a Sat night or Sun arvo Foxtel and channel 7/10 have broadcast the same game, leaving 1 to 2 games with no telecast at all
