I reckon it might be regardless of whatever he gets up to off the field. Cousins' great strength was to run until he spewed his guts up. You could niggle him, smash into him and the bugger would keep on running.
Now he has broken wheels and is a real plodder. He will still get possies every now and then but I'm sad to say it is over for one of the better players I have seen.
regards,
REB

You would have to think 2010 may be his last year...

Spot on REB. Watching the game Sat nite, he looked like he had other things on his mind. Richmond would be far better served picking a kid with a future. Surely Cuz's time is up.

Most likely it will be. Seems to be struggling now.

I guess it depends on what Richmond and their fans were really hoping for when they took him. If there was an expectation that he was going to get back to Brownlow form at his age, after that amount of time out of the game, and among a list that really is being further exposed for how thin it is, then no, its not looking good for him.
If he is able to play mainly in the forward 50, almost exclusively as a half forward/long forward pocket role, with only occasional runs on the ball, while they push game time through the middle into the likes of Dustin Martin, then he is still worth the spot for them - if it's solely on-field deeds that are being assessed.

Would be interesting to know what the name of the player was on their list that they would have taken if Cousins proved to be not available to them at the Pre Season draft and how that player may have performed for the club?

Didn't they move Polak onto the rookie list to accommodate for him?
