Very uninspiring 1st round of matches with the only match of any real interest for NEUTRAL supporters would be the Bulldogs - Collingwood game.

I think with the recent history between Sydney and St Kilda, that game will be a cracker. Should be a close one!

Also Brisbane v West Coast looks like its going to be a cracker, alone with the hard to pick games in Freo v Adelaide, Ports v NM, IMO Rich v Carl and as you said WB v Pies.

I like the look of the first round!

Pfft. Stick to trashing the Australian Cricket team. Neutral supporters? That's an oxymoron my friend, especially if you want to be inspired by the game. I can't wait to watch my Catters take on our bitches the Bombers. I reckon Brisbane and the improving West Coast should be a good game and the opener between Richmond and Carlton just reeks of desperation already for those two clubs. Heaven help the Blues if they don't salute!

The Crows might have a tough time of it in the West and I'll be keen to see what's left of Hawthorn and how they go against what's left of Melbourne. After sitting through the worst off season in my four decades of being a football fan I must say that your post boggles the mind!

I'm keen as mustard to see Fev in action. After an active trade week last year, I haven't been this excited for the start of footy for a few years. Also, I'm ready to resume my 6 month love affair with Jonathan Brown....much to the annoyance of the missus.

The one thing I've noticed so far in Rd 1 is the lack of application of the interpretation changes mooted during the pre season games.

Gold Coast & Western Sydney should only come into the AFL on the condition that both Richmond & Melbourne get the ARSEHOLED out of it. Both clubs are basket cases that are an embarrassment to the the AFL.

Over 100,000 fans attended matches featuring these two clubs during round one. Down periods don't last forever but once a club is kicked out you'll never get those fans back and Richmond in particular have plenty of them.

Couldnt believe when I heard on the radio call of the Melbourne game today that it was stated that the Demons

"needed two Mark Jamar's" (one forward, one on ball)

I can think of a hell of a lot of things that they need, this was not one of them

Exactly, that is why they should get rid of St.Kilda instead.
