Rucci's Top 50

Has to be the most laughable Top 50 list ever.

Bernie Vince at 10.
Luke Ball at 19. Still plays for St kilda apparently.
Robbie Gray at 47.

But the biggest laugh was Nic Naitanui at 48.

From reading the article, the criteria appeared to be the Top 50 players for delivering entertainment value, rather than the criteria Mike Sheahan uses for the Top 50 best players at a given time. This might alter the perception in that case.

Yeah very laughable indeed. The top 5 looks good carn't say much about the rest though. Carn't believe Dom Cassisi isn't in there he would be in my top 50 before Robbie Gray any day of the week. Keen to see Mark Ricciutos Top 50 on Monday

So using Rucci's criteria, Mark Jackson and Warwick Capper must have been the two greatest players of all time.

Still doesn't explain Bernie Vince at 10.

Rucci's top 50 always has a few controversal selections. Last year he did the same thing. This year is no different, and also to the Advertiser, if your that hard up for something to write in the sport section, then heck leave it blank, more people will look at it ;)

Attention seaker looking for a reaction, would do much better as a writer doing fiction novels

yeah agree with that. Ive never met the bloke so Im not sure what hes like, so this is nothing personal but his writing is terrible. I love the way he turns on all teams so very quickly.

Gray and Boak in the Top 50, give me a break

No room for Brent Harvey or Drew Petrie?

I thought you could find a spot for Scott Pendlebury, Marc Murphy, Brett Deledio and Joel Corey somewhere? And maybe Steve Johnson too?

On entertainment value, Johnson, Murphy and Deledio certainly stack up, but I'm not sure how Luke Ball does.

Dutchy - are you serious? Both Gray and Boak are destined for greatness. Harvey was good in his day and Petrie gets a bit of it - move with the times ... can't believe you haven't mentioned Mick Nolan and Xavier Tanner as well  . We'll all know how correct Rucci is by the end of 2010 - right now everything is speculative and subject to discussion & opinion. I can't believe he left out Daniel Rich... another potential superstar !!! and Marc Murphy also..

Surely you are also having a lend...

so just cause you think they are "destined for greatness" they are in the top 50 footy players in the land?

I was destined for greatness when I was 7, where am I in the list? Rucc and Ruben have to be having a lend. Either player would be struggling to make my top 250 let alone 50.

Rucci is a peanut. I saw Roo's Top 50 today and that is a lot more realistic.

I reckon he would be attracting a contract offer in the top 10.

All the experts on here should do a Top 50 and then we can pick them apart and laugh at them.

Get 50 people to do Top 50's and you'd have 50 different lists.

You blokes must be jealous. I think its because Rucci gets paid for writing crap and you blokes dont.
