Power to use "The Shed"

Did anyone read today's article in the adevertiser about Port dressing up AAMI stadium to make it look at feel less like "Crow Park"!?

Well, one of the things they have decided to do is to rename "The Shed" - "The Hanger" and use it for after match functions!!!

Now, how many of us supporters would have copped it over the years about going to back to "a shed" after a game!! I find this really ammusing and cant wait to get stuck into the Port Supporters!

"We will go back to our 20 million dollar facility, and they can use our old shed"!!!

LMAO - Only if you're a GOLD member, only if you can get a ticket ( 3000 only ) and not if you're the average Joe. Yep, the team for all South Aussies.

The Hanger? Better watch out it doesn't get taken over by Essendon or Sydney supporters....

Must admit, I was a bit disappointed when I found out that despite forking out for season tickets for the first time this season I won't have anywhere to go to celebrate/commiserate after a home game.

Not sure everyone ( Crow fan ) is aware of the above numbers either....

For the old shed, it was free for Gold Members, Silver Members paid $2 and the general public had no access.

For the new shed, it's exclusively for Gold Shed Members only. However the SANFL will operate the Hanger for Crows supporters, where a couple of players will be in attendance there as well. Apparantly even the Crows Cheer Squad aren't happy with their arrangement at the new shed either - apparantly the club has effectively given them a storeroom for banner making and won't even let them use The Hanger anymore!

Doesn't bother me as I never went to the old shed (it's a dump) and had no intentions of going to the new shed.

I though the "Shed" was still going to be used by the Crows before game, and also as it belongs to the SANFL (IIRC), the caterers can use it after game as well for both the Crows & the Power?

It's been rebadged the Hangar for ages now too....

Pretty much as the new 'shed' is the players warmup area pre-game so can't be used for pre-game functions

Correct although Gold Members are still reqd to fork out $50 for their new shed pass for the season. The club plans to evaluate the numbers they get and if the Gold Member restriction and price keep too many away expect changes in 2011. The Hangar will be badged with neutral SANFL propoganda to accommodate both clubs and their supporters before and after games.

You're only welcome here if you support that club BUT we do allow extremely respectful and polite fans of other clubs to join in conversations.
If you want to have a slight dig or generalisation that still falls within the guidelines of the rest of the site then post on the General AFL Forum.
Cheers.

So the issue is in regard to Port using the shed, but it's in the Crows forum. If it concerns both clubs shouldn't it be on the main board ?

I dont see to much of a problem with that the crows are doing. If you get 50,000 people to games each week, then heck you can afford to try and make some extra money some way.
And the fact that they have said if it doesnt work then they'll evaulate means they are not binded by there decisions at this point in time.

I think it will be. The crows have a great following. And it will help pay for the $20Mil facility, which is why I can understand where there coming from.

At least 100 casual tickets will be available after each game.

2000 have been sold and are now avialable for silver members so I expect that the rest will be snapped up.

After the novelty wears off i'll get a casual ticket when i feel like it. Doubt 3000 ever went to the old shed at any one time.
