Hamish Harlett out for a while?

Postby CoverKing » Sat Nov 07, 2009 9:48 pm

Spoke to Hamish today, got told he had Glandular Fever on Wednesday.

ANother interrupted pre-season this year by the looks. Unlikely to complete any of it until Xmas.

Interrupted pre-season generally means bad season. Unfortunate for the young gun. Hopefully he can still have a cracking year for the Bloods ;)

Not good for the young lad. Hope he gets over it quickly and plays where he belongs amongst the best footballers in the country.

GL is a strange disease. The full effects are felt after the actaul disease. the fatiuge is the problem and can take a while to fully recover regardless of how fit and healthy you were. Poor bloke, he was really set to have a big year.

This is a bump of an old thread, but the title is appropriate as Hamish has done his hammy bad again and will miss all of the pre-season.

Runs in the family. Adam didn't do a full pre-season his whole time at Carlton IIRC due to Hamstrings....

I don't know if this was Phil's source but Mark Williams talked about it tonight on 5AA. Out for 4 weeks of training.

Fan of the young fella has bright future but would probably wanna watch where and how loud he says things on the field. Probably not gonna do his reputation any good when caught with the ball by a glenelg reserves player right on the boundary. The glenelg player naturally gets in his face a bit happy with his defensive effort to which Hartlett replies DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM ..... would probably wanna have done a bit more in his career before ya pull that one out

That's something I would have expected out of Patrick Dangerfield's gob, not Hamish's. Sad that, hope he learns from it.

He wont be living up to much this year. The problem with GF is that not only will he have an interrupted pre-season but he has to rest while he recovers, its the post-GF thats gets you. Makes you tired, drains your energy, you start to find that you catch every bloody thing floating around.

Unfortantely it does take a while to get past it, but the fitter and healthier you are when you first get it will have some bearing on recovery time, I wish the boy well. Its a real pain in the arse to get.

And why is that X-Runna ? What do you base that on ?
I love grapes. With grapes, you always get another chance. You know, if you have a crappy apple or a peach, you’re stuck with that crappy piece of fruit. If you have a crappy grape, no problem-just move on to the next. ‘Grapes: The Fruit of Hope.
