Goodbye Mcleod, goodbye Shirley, goodbye Tyson Edwards, goodbye Burton.

Hopefully anyway, I doubt we'll delist too many this year given the strength of the draft.

Edwards has looked a little past it in the last few matches, making errors under pressure, but had a reasonably good overall season.
Burton has always been brittle - good when the team is on top like Welsh was.
McLeod has had a better season this year than in the last couple, but perhaps lacks a bit in leg speed these days.
Shirley has just got the best tagger in the league nod from the Son of God...
I suspect it is time for Edwards and Burton to go, but the other two may still have role for another season, given the thin draft expected.

As it turned out, with Knights injured, Douglas in instead of Burton may have proved handy, allowing Porps to stay forward.
With both Burton and Tippett up front the Crows were over confident about marks being taken and overused the long bomb to the forward line.

  Another funny one! You are in good form today...
With another pre-season I think Walker's game and his second-efforts will have developed enough for him to take Burton's spot.

Ha ha, read that in the paper as well. Apparently Essendon are interested as well because Lloyd might be going to collingwood, and if that dosent happen then they might go for walker. Fair old story, there haha. Real Tiser stuff.

Well if Super coach Craig don't rate Walker wheres he meant to play....Norwood??
I think he'll jump at the chance with Collingwood after seeing yet another Crows choke finals time!

I reckon Edwards is done, perhaps with Mcleod and Burton too. If you cannot perform in finals anymore then you are useless to a club, who cares if you were half decent during the Home and away season, that counts for shit all.

I cannot see the point in playing over the hill "club legends" like the above three, time to make like Blight and move on these three "Chris McDermotts"

He is not going to be released or traded for anything Collingwood or anyone else have to offer. 8)

I think the club needs to have a plan for the exit of the older hands so they aren't all finishing up at the same time, as to what it should be or how it should work, well I'm not sure.

Whilst it's easy to say throw 4 players out at once, realistically there needs to be better players to take their place ... Conversely, it's hard to find quality replacements if they aren't receiving the game time required to bring them up to that level.

I don't have the answers, but Craig and co. have been rather exceptional at list management, so I'd back them to have their finger on the pulse with this one also.

I don't see an issue with moving Burton and Shirley on and one of Mcleod/Edwards/Goodwin.

To go:
Burton -> Walker in the wings
Shirley or Doughty. Shirley maybe 1-2 years left and Doughty 30 plus must be under pressure soon. -> Rory and cooke in the wings.
Gill -> Has not played and always injured.
Kite -> Struggled to get a League game at Norwood maybe on the trade table to go back Melbourne.

4 players need to go as 3 changes as normal and martin who is on the list next year.

I hate saying this but I think Edwards has to go. He has lost a few yards of pace (not that he had alot of it) over the last few weeks and is making too many skill errors (both hand and foot) at the moment that he never used to make.

Gill
Gallman
Shirley
Kite

That will do it this year, if you need another then probably Burton.

To go: Gill, Gallman, Kite, Burton, Edwards.
To stay another year: McLeod, Goodwin, Shirley, Doughty.
McLeod is now the most marginal of the "to stay" group.

Keep all except burton as long as they are committed- Edwards and goodwin, are decent chances of winning the B&F. the overreaction of some i presume supporters is baffling. When a game is down to one kick or less, to read too much into things is useless. Burton for walker next year and make hentschel play some decent SANFL for a bit, mix a bit more new blood through the midfield (potentially someone explosive like petrenko) with edwards spending a bit more time at half forward i drove to the game, and drove straight back home, and thought they were fantastic... proud as punch.

Isn't Rutten looking to move to a wrestling career. I saw him practising on Anthony.
