Who should be the most embarrassed?

There was some truly horrible football played over the last three days with some teams having enough egg on their faces to fry up a rather large omlette. So who gets the gong for most embarrassing loss for the round? The nominees are...

Geelong
The Cats looked like yesterdays men on Friday night losing their first match to the Blues since 2004. The turnovers and lack of run was most alarming as the wheels well and truly fell off. Bomber Thompson called this match an 'unGeelong like performance' but I reckon he hasn't been watching for the last five weeks.

Western Bulldogs
The Bullies have become the Eagles first roadkill in 19 matches after at one stage having the rather embarrassing score of 0.10 to their name. To have their pants pulled down by the Eagles kids three weeks out from the finals must be causing Rodney Eade to lose his hair..oh wait, too late!

Hawthorn
People have quite rightly praised the Saints for their efforts in Tassie but the Hawks sucked hard against a side that had more holes in it than Royal Adelaide. The Hawks didn't ever look like it in a match where they had reportedly been prepared to 'make a statement'. I reckon Clarko might have cashed in on the Sainters.

Port Power
Why oh why didn't we listen to NO MERCY? The Power deserve a special mention losing at Subi twice this year. Imagine losing to the primary school boys in their most important match of the year? Ladies and gentlemen I believe we have a winner.

regards,

REB

Well with PORT ADELAIDE it wasn't unexpected, pathetic interstate performances come with the territory. The Geelong Cats would have higher expectations than losing to a team with 7 or so players out, so perhaps it is the Geelong Cats. I would say the Bulldogs though.

I disagree. Port's finals spot is on the line and they were hopeless. They don't deserve to be there

We had a few out but shhhh, don't tell anyone ;)

I think this thread sucks though and doesn't give enough credit to the 4 teams that won......

Apologies, my error, was mixing up Geelong with Hawthorn there.

My point remains though that Port losing wasn't a surprise at all. I didn't expect them to win. Hawthorn are reigning premiers and played a depleted St Kilda, more would have been expected. Similar with the Bulldogs. I know its easy to bash Port Adelaide and the club's supporters do it enough, the fact is the team just isn't that good so performances like today's aren't unexpected.

Correction. This year's undefeated team St.Kilda who are very well drilled and have the depth to cover good players for one week (players trying to impress for a spot in the team for the finals) played last years premier Hawthorn, who have been playing ordinary footy all season, also with players out. Anyone who assumed the Hawks would win, and backed them, deserved to lose their money.

As toss up between the Bulldogs and anyone who thought Port could win two in a row.

Dogs ... For a team that all season has set themselves for Top 4 and (what they believe to be) a legitimate chance for the Premiership, they shouldn't lose a game like that.

No disrespect to the Eagles intended.

The Hawks get my vote.

With their finals aspirations at stake you'd have expected the reigning premiers to take advantage of a hugely depleted St Kilda lineup down in Tassie.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it but Richmond should be pretty embarrased. Cousins 250th, MCG and Sydney not in fantastic form lately, bar a good showing last week, would have thought the Tigers would have at least given more of a yelp.
