They have played Essendon (L), Adelaide (L), Melbourne (W), Sydney (L)

So that leaves: Freo v West Coast, Port, Brisbane, Hawthorn, Richmond, St Kilda, Bulldogs, Collingwood, NM, Carlton, Geelong

Adelaide have never played Richmond

Correct, Freo does have the lion's share. it will be the other ones that could challenge people. good solid start (one of those melbourne clubs is wrong though)

yes. Only club Adelaide hasn't met, and correctly said that Fremantle has actually played Melbourne

Last three are correct. Cats lost to the lions in the 2004 Preliminary, sadly

Sydney is classed as the one continuous club of South Melbourne becoming Sydney, but to save you wasting any time, there are no combinations involving South / Sydney of the remaining three that are left.

Beat Sydney in Sydney on the way to one of their premierships and lost to Brisbane when the Lions were claiming three in a row.
You can basically rule out the newer clubs from now.

Good move to start thinking clubs with long droughts, but that pairing doesn't qualify. They have a solitary meeting in 1985 ;) which was the Bullies only finals victory between 1961 and 1992.

Neither of those, but you're in the right section of the premiership success ladder to get some correct answers.

For another clue.

One club will provide two of the remaining match-ups, but you just haven't got them right yet.

The last match-up will be the hardest of all, as the two respective clubs have more than 10 premierships between them, but have never actually met in a final.
