Hi peopls just thought id start a topic on players that should be cut at years end........your thoughts????

Heres mine

Trent (no more potential) Hentchel......times up and never goin to be the same.
Nick (old man emu) Gill.....body just doesnt hold up and im a Nth Adelaide supporter and we could do with him :-)
Richard (no awareness) Douglas....... just frustrates the hell outta me, no awareness what so ever bye bye.
James (been on the list to long) Sellar......another wasted high draft pick, back to the SANFL for u.
Brent (trade bait) Reilly......with the likes of Mackay, Dangerfield coming through the rank this slow moving midfielder is no longer needed.
Jarrhan (keep ya feet) Jacky.....seen this bloke in the SANFL and now the reserves, not an AFL player.

question marks over Burton,Mcleod

I'd like to see Brent Reilly given a shot at back pocket with Johncock moved out to HBF, before he is traded.
But I agree he is looking to be a marginal player these days.

I agree, but growler is fairly close (haven't seen Jacky though).

Well I think that Mr Brent Reilly must have read this post because it was a great game by him 2day against the power and rarely turns the ball over. Great game keep it up.

Burton and McLeod went alright today, I'd say the latter should go around again, they need the mix of young and old!

I'd like to see Reilly given another year , he's played a couple of blinders for Sturt this year and a couple for adelaide also, great game tonight. I always thought he'd make a good half forward flanker, he's got a good kick for goal or to a target

Gallman. Third year on the list still playing SANFL reserves. No real standout features in his game, very bland.

Gill. Too injury prone and with Walker, Tippett and McKernan all coming on there is no need for him.

Hentschel. If he can play out the year without any further injuries (and play decent to good footy) then maybe he's worth one more year but if he suffers another injury it's unfortunately all over.

Shirley: Can still contribute (as he did today) but in and out of the side and not going to improve whereas we have a lot of young midfielders ready to take his spot for good.

One of:

Griffin. Still too thin, not physical enough, injury prone, hasn't come on.
Sellar. Showing the occasional good sign now but still a long way to go.
Kite. Hope not but still playing reserves in 2nd year would concern the Crows. Has upside that is worth persisting with.
Jacky. Not AFL standard, no real position. Can take a mark and has decent pace but can't keep fit and struggles to play league footy.
Douglas. Won't happen but a seriously average footballer. As the OP said, no awareness, lacks speed, doesn't find enough of the ball or kick enough goals.

Didn't Chris McDermott predict Richard Douglas would be a 300 gamer and future captain of the Crows?

Gill - Would be sad to see the cult favourite (:P) go but he hasn't been able to keep himself fit, and seems to have lost some of the mobility that made him an awkward match up.

Griffin - Poor intensity, sounds like a broken record but he is routinely out-bodied by midfielders...as a ruckman?!

Gallman - Bland is a very good description, nothing AFL standard about him. Would probably be the first the coaching panel agrees to part with.

They are the standout three who shouldn't be on the list next year imo. Still think Jacky is good enough to make it.

*chuckle*

This from a bloke who reckons:

1. Watto would be fit for the first test
2. eagles would beat Norwood by 10 goals at Woodville
3. and this on Neil craig:

What an absolute fool this man is.

He honestly thinks training 'form' is more important than what a player can offer on the ground in a GAME.

Dangerfield now in his bad books. Who next? This guy wil take us nowhere, sack him before it's too late.

Chris McDermott is still fighting the battle from his own career's end under Malcolm Blight.
He may not have been able to walk around the training track by then, but he knew he was still a "star" in matches.

James Sellar - Surely we don't have to put up with watching him go round again in 2010.

Gotta say, I thought he actually played quite well in the Showdown. 2nd efforts got the ball out of 2 or 3 stoppages, as well as playing the link man a few times around the ground. He's very lucky that he doesn't have much competition for the 2nd ruck spot at the moment, he may just salvage his career if he continues to improve.

I agree with you ginger ninja, thought he did an admiral job around the ground for a bloke 5-10 games into his ruck career. If he keeps improving on last weeks effort he will be ok.
