Barry Hall Quits Swans

Talk on the national game

Barry Hall Quits Swans

Postby Brodlach » Tue Jul 07, 2009 2:17 pm

Barry Hall has just announced he has quit the Swans to try and prolong his career in the AFL. Dont think any other club would pick him up being that he is 32.

we will have him at Geelong. him and mooney in the forward line. no one will be a smart ass around them. The talk is that the draft this year is very slim. which means some side could take a punt on him......
We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

Here's some of the story

http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,865 ... 51,00.html

Strange how Hall want's to continue but Roos says he's retired and what a stellar career he had further down the report. I wonder what it is. play on or retired :-??

I don't care what the reason is, I want him to lose a bit of weight and punch out Mundine since Danny Green wasn't up to it.

I don't give a crap who does it, as long as it gets done.

Hall wasn't always a mad bastard though. Remember him being fairly quiet when at the Saints. Must be the boxing.

LOL how menacing would that be ... Except for the amount of time they spend in the grandstand on forced leave.

It would give Mooney someone to pass to so he doesn't have to kick at goal. ;)

Premierships are fine to reflect on at the end of the career.
But they don't help fix his kicking yips at the moment.

The other club wasn't Port so it's still 2-1. BTW, Cam did kick two goals on Sunday.

How did a Barry Hall thread turn into an argument about a Geelong player?

Is Wedgie here?

Where to now for the swans forward line?

We have Playfair who showed a bit of promise at Geelong, but is injured at the moment
Johnston who is only young and injured at the moment
Veszpremi young player who did well last season and only has played a handful of games this season
White who looks like a player that will turn into a very good footballer imo.

O'Loughlin and Hall gone by the end of the year will leave a big hole to fill in our forward line
It's Somma Time!

White will develop, you're right, but as a forward or a ruckman?

Age has caught up with the great man unfortunately.

At 32, its hard to keep up with very talented, super fit, highly skilled 24 year olds.

At 30+, it's shameful to be beaten by youth.

But the answer is not to thump em. ;)

Most of us in his position and experience would have done the same.

Finally he has excepted his fate.

Pity it wasn't 18 months prior, he still is a Great man.
Smile :)

  WTF? The guy is a gutless thug. Great men don't hit people when they aren't looking. Hall is goose and a coward. Good riddance to him.

PS - before people point out i am a Hawthorn supporter and one of the supposed greats of the Hawks is Leigh Matthews who is guilty of pretty much the same things as Hall, fact is i don't hold Matthews in very high regard either.
