Looks like the club have been working hard to secure the future, great stuff. Tippett the only glaring omission...

Brilliant news. The Armstrong and Cook signings in particular are good to see because a lot of people have questioned where these two are headed. Cooky's game has some rough edges right now but oozes X-Factor and brings explosive pace and strong, clean hands. His work in traffic is good too - see the Collingwood season opener. He'll take longer than a lot of the others but we'll be rewarded for the patience imo. Army is more a case of needing to add some bulk and he may yet debut in 09.
No surprise to see Stevo and Bernie re-sign, and now we know Otto is happy here too.
Wonder what the go is with Jarrhan Jacky given his contract ends this year (I think)?

I think Armstrong was a travelling emergancy in once game? The obvious signing we want is tippets but i am confident he will stay with the crows even if it is for less money. His manager saying that they wont talk extensions yet is because they expect his stocks to rise between now and then and work in his favour in bargaining with the crows rather than him saying i want to go home to GG.

Yeah he was iirc, and rotten luck (being roommates with Douglas who got suspected swine flu thus both of them had to be quarantined) robbed him of a possible debut. Yeah agree with you about the Tipster, listening to one of his managers in that interview with KG, he pretty much guaranteed that he wouldn't be going anywhere.

Great news. Just hope tippet will re-sign at seasons end.

Heys the one I would be most worried about. This bloke can really play and is developing well.

Maric on the news also said "he isnt going anywhere" smiled and then repeated it so i would say that Tip Daddy is very happy and content in Adelaide

I see today they've stitched up Johncock for another 2 years also. Good to see the club moving heaven and earth to secure the very promising current squad.

Sorry have to disagree with this move Johncock would be better served as trade bait. Every game I have seen this year he twists and turns getting himself into trouble instead of running lines and pushing forward quickly which is, correct me if I'm wrong, Craig's gameplan of quick movement.

Trade bait??????
Stiffy is a fantastic player and I'm stoked that he has signed for another 2 years! He is all class.

Last year I'd have traded him if there were any takers, or delisted him, but he has performed better this year.
Not one of the team's best 10 anymore in my opinion though...

Interesting to note that Crow fans will be divided by Johncock's contract extension. For mine, as Psyber has noted, he has been much better this year but I think that may be because of the internal pressures put on him regarding his private issues away from footy.
A year ago he looked like a bloke ready to pull the pin, now he looks like he is ready to play once more, perhaps trade him to Port Adelaide?

Agreed Booney - Crows are a better team when he's in and playing well imho.

Last year I questioned his committment and ability to put his head over a tough footy or stand infront of the pack to help out Rutten / Bock..
Stiffy is back this year and playing with the same intensity and courage he was known for during the first 100 games he played.. deserved an extension and is playing well IMO

Agreed, Crows are a better team with him than without him

i would feel so much better if the crows had signed up the big feller in tippet, i think all would, except the gold coast committe...i really hope he stays as i think he will play a decent part in the crows winning a flag in the next few years...

I heard Tippett interviewed after the televised match against Richmond, and he said he'd bought a house in Adelaide and was committed to the Crows.
One TV commentator then said to the other, "Aren't you his agent? What did you think of that?"
The other guy replied. "Yes well.. [laughing] I guess his asking price has just gone down a bit.."
I don't know who they were... or whether one of them was his agent.
