Johncock back is excellent, Douglas back is good, Shirley kept ahead of Petrenko is questionable. Dead average footballer with no improvement left but a strong body versus a player who gives you just as much commitment and seemingly has more to offer long term, but lacks the build right now.

Bad decision imo, don't like it at all. We've got a good enough team to beat Sydney without the need for another strong body.

would this be to run with a kirk or j bolton? i would rather them work with what is going to be there in say 2-3 years in a petrenko, got some good potential IMO.

Was a bit worried about this game, but now I've had a look at the team I'm confident they'll get the job done Saturday.

The side looks very solid at the moment, I like what I see, options all over the ground and very few (if any!)weak links. Obviously not still up to the standard of Geelong/St Kilda, but definitely have the goods to deal with sides 4-16 on the ladder.

Shirley kept ahead of Petrenko is questionable.

Shirley's statistics from last week, especially tackles were better than many others in the team, and I suspect we are a bit short on mobile strong bodies who can tackle well, at least until some of the kids develop a bit more.. I think he is there primarily for a tagging job though.

Eh, so it wasn't wet thankfully but the Swans really did clamp proceedings well. That first half would probably the best half of footy they've put up against us since before the Craig era.

Apart from the fast ball movement, better forward targets and structure, one of the really positive things coming from the Crows at the moment is that they are really capable of grinding out a win, not giving up and working hard at what they do.

Imo their fight has been consistently good for a few years but they've definitely been able to turn what would previously have been honourable losses into gutsy wins in 2009. Traditionally when they're headed late in the third or fourth term they'll continue to grind but won't get the points; against Collingwood, Essendon and now Sydney they have reversed that trend.

One thing I especially liked from them was after the incident with Hall and Truck, apart from Macca going up to him, no one got in his face and tried to make things worse (like hawthorn did with Sam Mitchell a few weeks ago). Shows a focus on the game and job at hand and a proffessional attitude, not relying on cheap shots. This was the case all game.

Good game and comeback, very happy with the win.

Dangerfield was exceptional, and I though Moran took a big step forward. He actually provided some run around the ground in the 3rd quarter, and was the link man in a couple of passages of play. Bloody good to see a big man do that, I hope the knee strain isn't too serious as I think he is really developing well.

Now to Richmond this week, just have to keep putting away the sides that we should and we'll have a good shot at some September action.

Oh well, it'll do him good to get some close attention and work out how to deal with it. The good thing is at the moment if the opposition takes one player out of the game there are three or four others who present and take their place. Saturday is was Tippett and the Porps, previous games Walker and Knights have stepped up.
