The number 1 is a funny one. I grew up in an era where captains or very good players wore the number 1, it was a number of prestige. These days they hand it to anyone. I guess it doesn't really matter what's on your back, you can't see it anyway

Just for interest, does it matter if it's AFL, SANFL , amateurs, or anyone else? ie. would you wear a different number in the AFL to SANFL say?
