Crows are underrated in Melbourne, but Garry must have been on the sauce when he wrote that.

They could probably challenge fairly seriously in about 2 or 3 years, but this year year, although i think they'll make the 8, i don't think they're a legitimate premiership contender.

I don't think Gary was suggesting they were a 'legitimate' contender as such, but rather suggesting that if people don't take them seriously and a few things go their way success could come a bit sooner than expected.

The talent in the team is obvious, probably 1-2 years from being a dominant team, but the talent is their non the less, which makes them a sneaky chance to at least cause some headaches in September.

There are some similarities between the current Crows situation and those of the 97' brigade, a group that perhaps snuck up on the competition.

However, this group doesn't appear to have a few of the ingredients of that flag winning Crows group, particularly Jarman and a young Andrew McLeod.

Still, I don't think many saw 97 and 98 coming and as GN has said, thats what Gaz is driving at.

i dont mind the crows if my team the roos dont do well and miss out on finals i hope the crows do well for south australia.. same goes for port.. melbourne teams dont rate sa footy at all im sure
