Crows easy, Essendon are the worst first half team in the comp and the crows have kicked 20 to 4 in first halves in the last two weeks

Should be a really good game to watch.
Both sides will attack and run, looking forward to it.
Handy winderlich's out, been on fire.
Doughty to tag Watson, he's the one who wins the hard ball and gets em running.
Hopefully open forward line, Walker might enjoy a big day under the roof!!

they might have been shite but the crows out played them in the 1st half. being first to the ball has nothing to do with who you do or dont have on the park IMO.

Absolutely brilliant game of footy! Night & day between the two styles the Crows have played earlier this year and the last few weeks. Tippett with 7, Knights with 5 and a couple of nice ones from Walker and 41 possies for Edwards.

Well done Crows and congrats to Tyson Edwards on a fantastic career & a massive game in his 300th.

See - bit of patience, bit of understanding of the process and you are rewarded with performances like this. :)

May as well get the negative out of the way first again: Moran hasn't got it imo. Ineffective taps, poor intensity (but credit does go to him for that 1%er in the last term, the first genuine piece of desperation I can remember seeing from him), poor skills. All McKernan has to do is stick at it and the spot will open up for him.

Goes without saying but Tippett played his best game for the Crows today and massive props to him for working so hard on his kicking routine and technique in the off season. With his strength and attack on the contest a bit of accuracy in front of the sticks is all it's going to take for him to rack up 50+ goal seasons for us.

Meanwhile Tex put the mark of a class player on show; didn't have a great game yet came away with 2 goals and both were devastating to the opposition.

Edwards - 41 touches, killed it roving out of the centre square, what you can say really? He is by far the best placed of our three remaining old guard to play on in 2010 and perhaps even beyond. 300 games and still gunning it into oblivion.

Vince - Again a few poor pieces of execution but he makes up for it with elite awareness, vision and clean hands in the scrimmages. 36 possessions, -most- of them damaging. Dare I say it right in the mix to captain our club.

Thompson - Continuing some outstanding in-close work. Again what else can you say? When he's releasing the ball from the base of just about every pack and keeping his outside disposal tidy, he's ticking all the boxes the coaching staff want.

Knights - Future coach, CEO, just give him the lot. Every time he sees the big sticks he attacks them and he's got the strength, balance and cannon leg to do the job. The worry has always been that his execution would hold him back from stepping into the elite bracket but if he keeps popping them through in this forward role, he's there.

Bunch of other positives, I'm sure others will touch them throughout the week. All in all we looked "even more powerful than last week in terms of our capacity to score" eh Craigy? :D

Great display by both teams today, kicking for goal was outstanding. One thing that bothers me a bit, maybe it's part of a structure and game plan but the Crows don't seem to be shepherding much, e.g. when they are in defence in close quarters they pass off a handball but don't bother to shepherd the recieving player, this will happen about 4-5 times in seconds trying to get the ball clear but rarely is there a shepherd, the only thing I can think of is that they prefer to keep players clear for backup.

Also just on Moran again: I'm not looking for bad things to say about him for the sake of having a crack. It's great that he's athletic and can get get first hands to the footy at a bounce; there are just some glaring issues with his attack on the ball and contest along with his skill level (including his ability to direct a palm) that will need enormous improvement for him to have a long term future at the AFC. You see so many players with apparent intensity issues come through the system and it's usually a frustrating process that doesn't bear any fruit at the end. Genuinely hope we can have some success with this one but I've got doubts.

Great win by the boys. Stuck to the task, one of the more satisfying wins from a supporters perspective in a long time.

Tyson Edwards, what can you say, the superlatives don't go far enough. Sign him up for another two years (minimum).

Kurt Tippet, the club needs to offer him whatever it takes to prevent the GC from poaching him.

On a sour note note, I'm guilty of bagging players in my team, unfortunately Brad Symes has been my target over the last few weeks and he was again my target in the first half today, however, to give credit where it is due he had an outstanding second half and may have kept his spot in the team for the next couple of games.

Can't believe the Crows put Tyson Edwards on a performance based contract this year when he's been the best player for the Crows for how long (years & years)
I think thats an insult & today he proved on such a big occasion what a magnificent player he is to the Crows.
He should demand another 2 year deal.
He don't owe them, they owe him.

NM It's a pretty standard contract for Adelaide when it comes to over 30's players, I think you'll find that it's the same for all players over 30 that are on their list and has been for some time. I think you'll also find that most clubs are doing the same thing with their over 30 players...not saying all clubs with all players. With new draftees coming on into the game so quickly now you can understand it also.
