Who is Choco having a crack at??

Postby am Bays » Mon May 15, 2006 9:38 pm

This was on The Age news wire this afternoon:

Port's coach also reserved a few choice words for SANFL clubs, which he said had held back some of Port's developing talent by playing them out of position.

"Without mentioning particular clubs, some of our players we pick to play in the forward line and they've been playing in the back line all year," Williams said.

"I'm happy for them to be learning different spots, but if they were coached by us they wouldn't be playing there, and these are some of the little things that stand in our way and stop your progression
."

I reckon he is having a crack at Timmy, imagine playing Ebert on the ground when the Smears have him earmarked for a role on the bench.....

Funny in the article he bemoans the fact that he has lost players through retirements and trades and names one of the losses as Picket. The obvious question is, if you didn't want to lose him why did you swap him for a 2nd round draft pick.......

FWIW I have to admit I rate Choco as a bloke and he has been our best coach since Cornesy....Mind you Mickan is fast growing on me....

It must have been Lairdy holding back Surjan. He could only make reserves at Central.

The thing is, Ebert won a magary playing of a wing or on the ball. When he plays in the power he was playing up forward for a while. Now Chocco, i think the only one holding back some boys might be you.

Nah.....couldn't be

We're just giving him confidence to run at the ball and and learn the position by playing against it.......

I mean Choco played his "best" forward in the backlines on Sunday to get some confidence......

Sturt played your 3 goal premiership hero (Thurstans) in the backlines for three years didn't hurt him did it????

You are right with Thurstans at CHB he has played sensational footy there for Sturt - his read of the game and run can be great to watch - Except a couple of weeks back against Gill from North ( which still gives me nightmares )

By the way - please change the photo

Your joking about Thurstans are you not? He is looking lazy and running around in second gear and we all know why!!! How Chaplin got dropped for him for on the grounds of team balance is beyond me? They were desperate and used him as a second ruckman. If that was the case why not give Deluca a go - he is the future and was drafted as a ruckman.

Drebin my nemesis we shall tangle again

The emphasis was on "has" - maybe I should of gone in to more detail as to when he was playin his best footy with my Blue Baggers.

I remember a game @ prospect Oval when Morgan was @ CHF for your Roosters and Toby was @ CHB for Sturt. Morgan was gettin a game for the Power and Toby couldnt get a look in - Toby ran rings around Morgan and made him look silly - thus Morgan being traded . Now we both know how long ago that was :(

I have already quoted that famous Friday night and as I said night mares !!!!!

As for what the Power do - your guess would be as good as mine - I have said many times with them - What the !!!!!
It is what it is !!!

Not sure who he is having a crack at Tassie.I think at the moment he is clutching at straws abit and would like a few weeks to sort some things out before he faces the media again, sadly for Mark this wont happen.

My money is on Choco coming out with some quality lines like he did when we spent a week at the bottom some 6 years ago.

Booney, there is a background to this, i'm 98% sure he's talking about Willitts, but quite possibly a few other players as well.

It's a bit early in the season to be coming up with excuses isn't it? My question to Chokko woule be what have you done about it? Have you talked to the coach(es) in question? I think it's another attempt to get all Power draftees to the Port Magpies.
We used to be good :-(

Doggies,I recall Choco saying during the summer he had made the mistake in the past of not having enough contact with the SANFL coaches, and that he had made an extra effort to go around and speak to all of them about the new recruits and the players who would spend a bit of time in the SANFL.
