Round 7: North Melbourne vs Port Adelaide

Real tough game for the Power, have an poor record against the Roos, but in the recent years have done pretty well.

This game could go either way, but i think the Power will come through with the goods.

Port by 21 points.

Well its hard to tell really. If the Poo Port turn up and the reasonable North turn up then North may get up. But if Crap North turn up and good port....etc etc

Hard one to call.

Tonight, we played like we have been all year, up and down.

I can't see us making the top 4. Top 8 yes, but we aren't good enough to be in the top 4.

Good comeback, extra minute and you would have had it. Don't like either team but it still had me on the edge of my seat in the last couple of minutes. There's been some good finishes this year.

One of the commentators tonight seemed to sum Port up pretty well, they are lethal when they are allowed to play on their own terms, but when they're confined, or put under strong physical presence, they have some bad habits.

Still plenty of time to get that right this year.

Yet another fine performance on debut from a Power youngster, this time young Davenport, they continue to land themselves quality first year players.

He is not really a first year year player though is he CP.

I was very pleased to see him do well, he is a very good player IMO.

I find it hard to read too much into last nights game. North Melbourne were up from the start and we were 10% off our best. In the end if NM didnt kick freakishly accurate they wouldnt have won. It was a game we could have come up and stolen but just run out of time.

I only got to see the first quarter and a bit on tv, but from what i can tell NM deserved the victory. Neither club will be anywhere near it come finals time though.

NM shouldnt have been within 5 goals of your team...... bad perfomance one week up one week down. Why???

I knew he was a bit older than the standard rookie, but I thought it was his first year in the AFL? Either way, still a pretty impressive performance, even if it was just his Power debut.

He kicked a pretty good goal for them and was pumped, but I was surprised by the lack of mobbing from his teammates.

It was his first game in the AFL.

Is 23, was on the Geelong rookie list in 2007 and their senior list in 2008. Won the best and fairest in the VFL for Geelong in the VFL last year.

Yeah it was, i have always liked him and thought he had a lot of potential. Hopefully he can realise that at Port.
