Yep, due to the Roos bailing out, the Blues would've played this at the Docklands and probably made **** all, so have moved it to the Coast for a fair crack of $$$. Members get into the game v the Bombers to make up the game allocation.

What radio ? Carlton entered into an agreement with the AFL to play two games up there. This year & next, against an interstate side ie Freo.

Getting a reported 400 k for doing it, so will make far more $$$$ then if we played at Docklands...

What a round for tipsters!

Hawthorn should be too good for Essendon and I reckon Melbourne can't win the in the West however...

Geelong will be faves against the Swans but no Ablett, Ling, Hunt, Ottens and maybe Harley coming off a six day break against the Swans on our narrow ground that might suit their style of game. I reckon we are vulnerable this week.

On paper Carlton are miles ahead of Freo but Freo has won eight of the last nine matches between the clubs and both sides are travelling in this one so a bit of an unknown quantity for both sides.

North Melbourne are absolute rubbish but so far this season when Port have gone in faves they've been ordinary bar the Melbourne game. North have to show something soon and it could be this week.

Both Adelaide and Western Bulldogs aren't in top form at the moment and I think the Bullies are the better side but they probably aren't in good enough form to win away from home. On the other hand, the Blackbirds haven't won at AAMI all season! Pretty rude draw though getting the Saints, Cats and Bullies to go with the Showdown. Both sides must make a stand here.

Richmond have a great record against the Brions in Melbourne but without Richo they'd struggle to beat Port Magpies.

St Kilda of course are the greatest team to ever walk the planet and the premiership is a mere formality. Collingwood are middle order battlers. So why do I get the feeling that the Pies can salute? Simple. When everyone thinks they can't win they get a bit fired up and actually play better than they are. When they are expected to win they think they are better than they are and the opposite happens.

St Kilda and Geelong to lose in the same week? Surely not!

REB

it was 3aw, they said the AFL told Carlton, Richmond and St kilda to play there once a year until The Gold Coast come in, after north stopped going there. and they are giving each team 400,000 a game

The asked not told. Bit of a difference. Carlton agreed and good on 'em for doing so. Fantastic for the Queensland supporter base.

alrighty gents, back onto this week of matches.
it seems like there should be a few high scores this week but we all know what our game is capable of doing. my tips are;

Hawthorn 37pts, Roughead coming off 8 will kick another bag as they have no decent defenders to take him and buddy. and not enough fire power for the bombers... Jay Neagle.....?!?
Geelong 24pts, although the little master is out the addition of Harley to their backline will only strengthen it. C.Ling back in the side will add some ugly and the swans, although competetive, won't be able to go with them
Brisbane 31pts, Richo going down is the worst thing for the tigers, cuz won't be influential and brown hasn't done too much yet IMO. Bradshaw to have a day out
Port 46pts, i hate the power but they go alright and with Tredders finding form as well as motlop kickin goals North will have a hard task, boomer to North is like Richo to the tigers.
Carlton 38pts, midfield will smash freo, Pav will have a run and get a few touches but he can't kick to himself at CHF... betts to kick half dozen
Doggies 22pts, boith have the problem of no power forwards and rely on the little blokes to kick the goals (porps and johno mainly) but the dogs have more goals comin from the midfield, should be a corker though! especially if the dogs get up!!!
West Coast 50pts, play very well at home and are due for a good performance after losing the last couple. melbourne just don't look any good, maye it's cos they aren't
St.Kilda 12pts, this will be a great game IMO and could go either way, i think the saints pressure in the back half will get the Pies makin mistakes, the saints are still a couple weeks from falling over, but it will happen!

Tough Round to tip IMO.

Hawthorn- Easily, Buddy and Roughead to be big and too good.
Geelong- Sydney a chance but Geelong to creep over the line
Brisbane- Richmond are a big chance but with no Richo Brisbane just to get over the line.
Port- Should win but who knows.
Carlton- Freo have a very good record against them but travelling after the Derby is always hard.
Dogs- Need to get back on track and this may be the start
WCE- Easily, Too good.
St Kilda- Very good side and should win.
