Who are the best 3 Power players of all time?

I basically put a list together of players who were around the club for a long period of time, apologies if you disagree, just post your thoughts.

Bit early to be using the "Greatest" tag isn't it

Come back in 40 years (yeah, I know - we might have won another premiership by then  )

Might not be the 'best' Power player since '97...

But Michael Wilson is the greatest.

Roger James not far behind...

Good boy HOF, I was hoping someone would do this.

I went (in no order):

Wanganeen - One of the greatest players of my time full stop.
Tredrea - Think a lot of people forget how dominant he was
Primus - Just what a new, young team needed .. Lead them well and was the games best ruckman for a period (they had to create a new rule to remove his dominance)

Apologies to Wilson and James .. With Junior and Chad a chance to affect this list before their time is up.

Definitely Gavin Wanganeen.

Here is just a little example of his brilliance - goal vs St Kilda in 04 Prelim'. Deep into final term with scores dead-locked. This put Port into the GF....

Yeah, long story to go with my highly unlikely combination of supported teams. ;)

Then came his match-winning burst in the GF - late 3rd quarter/early last.

Still, we wouldn't have been there if not for Roger James' first-half PF heroics.

Swear it was Roger v Saints in that first quarter...

Wanganeen first, daylight second...

Chad Cornes probably the best player in the AFL on his day (and the biggest tosser in the AFL too, on his day ;) )

Michael Wilson as tough as nails, and epitomises what i think the REAL Port Adelaide is about.

Tredrea was topline at his peak, and Francou was under-rated by most non-Port people. He was a very good 'inside' player, IMO.

In terms of pure quality and class, Wanganeen is the greatest Power player IMO. I also feel that in 40 years, he'll still head the list. It was a pleasure to watch him do things that defied belief.

Wilbur for me epitomises Port Adelaide though. His hardness and determination gets him into the top 3. He was certainly far from the most talented player, but he more than made up for it with his approach. He was the greatest team player Port Adelaide will EVER have.

Couldn't go past Tredders to round out the top 3.

Still gives me goosebumps. There were grown men crying at the end of this game.

This is why Wilbur has to be top 3 IMO:

Not particularly skillful like the Wangas goal, but he just never thought about the consequences or personal injury. Just put himself in there and did what had to be done time and time again.

I still recall him going toe to toe with Barry Hall, putting him on his arse then standing over him laughing.

not much quailty to pick out of..

Wanganeen and Tredrea for me

Wanganeen is so gutsy
Tredrea to kick them so many goals had to have a mention

Robbie Gray to be a star when he is older
