How do we all think he will go with the captaincy?

I reckon he will do OK, but will get better will every game he captains.

your thoughts?

Best possible choice for the captaincy.
A consistent player who always puts in, which was more than could be said for many others last year.

From his actions on sunday, i wouldnt have thought that he is the best "leader"..

what is the deal with port and their hot heads?? does it stem from the top (coaches) or the culture at that place?

Port are trying top act tough and they have no idea how to be tough.... IN todays football you are a tough team by winning contested footy... not rubbing peoples faces in the dirt, kneeing or charging people off the ball.... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Gotta love Tredrea's quote in yesterday's Tiser:
"I don't think its a discipline thing, I think its a frustration thing at times - sometimes you just do silly things." ??????????? Unless I'm very much mistaken, isn't that what discipline means? Having discipline means you don't do silly things because you're frustrated! Not really helping the Port Adelaide stereotype Warren!

LOL I must admit when I first heard the comments, I thought the same thing .. Controlling emotions forms a fair part of discipline I'd suggest.

Please keep in mind these guys are footballers and are asked questions on the spot without having a speech writer give them any que cards.

I agree, strange comment but please, see above.

It was kept in mind mate, I wasn't so much getting stuck into Tredrea, just chuckling over the comment from the comfort of my lounge chair ;)

Still, the fact it was almost made excusable by a senior leader doesn't send a strong message.

I was impressed with Chad Corne's comments. He didn't blame the umpires (for this one) and pretty much said they have to pull their head's in and attack the footy.

Chad calls a spade a spade so no surprises for me there.

I am surprised by Dom's actions though.

Was it the tag of being the "captain" of Port Adeliade that made Dom do that? It is out of character for him to do something like that i would've thought.

I would guess it wasn't relevant to the Captains Tag at all ... Motlop, Cassisi, P.Burgoyne and Lade all showed an interest in wanting to rough up opponents.

In all cases, the 4 of them actually went out of their way to do it also.

I just think (as said before somwehre), they've been given the message to up the anti-social tempo, but they haven't got it quite right yet.

Very much out of character. To run into someone so far off the ball was very, very strange. Perhaps something was said to him?

As for the P.Burgoyne report, look at every time he has been suspended and it will be just as stupid as this one. Not always thinking that bloke.

I understand that CP but the others have at times done silly things to get reported whereas Cassisi hadn't and i thought the "i gotta be tough coz i am the Port Adelaide Captain" thought had got to him.
