North Melbourne Season 2009

Postby hearts on fire » Thu Mar 26, 2009 12:58 pm

Home of the Roos for season 2009!!

North will once again be very competitive but this year they won't do enough to reach the finals.

My Opinion: North Melbourne to just fall short of the eight and finish 9th.

Arocca said: one, why it was done; two, why it was disseminated;

Excellent choice of words Eugene! :D I don't know what all the fuss is about, sounds like a bit of a laugh to me! I guess it would be funny if it wasn't the AFL. The fun police will be all over this one. The talk of degrading women is ridiculous! How do they know what the sex of the chicken carcass was!

I reckon this mob are in real trouble. A truly awful effort today. No spirit, no forwards and no run. They came out during the week and said they'd be protecting Boomer but he was shut out once again. They delisted Nathan Thompson, fair enough he's been around for years but there doesn't appear to be many alternatives to kick a sausage roll up there. Corey Jones is not half the player he was two years ago and Aaron Edwards, despite his promise hasn't delivered due to injury and discipline issues. A long season coming up at Arden Street.

give em a chance REB, would like to comment more but havent seen or heard the last 2 games due to Crows/Power dominating our TV's and Radios

might be a long one, but the most inexperienced list in the comp will give you that

BUT we have lost to 2 of the comps top 3 teams so no need to slit wrists yet

Yeah i think the roos will come good. In 2007 they finished 3rd after losing their first 3 games. They've won one and lost to Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs. I dont think they can be written off just yet.

I'm glad your glass is 1/2 or in this case 1/3 full. Be careful, tomorrow it might only be a 1/4 full. but then again after every thing that's happened this week at Arden Street you could be counting your Chickens.

Could North Melbourne's season be shot with Brent Harvey out for most of the season.

I can't see them making the finals now.

Glad to see North Melbourne roll over and wear their away jumper, shorts, socks, for their home game against Collingwood !!

And thought their "away" jumper & ensemble looks pretty average too....

What do you want them to do? They face quite a significant fine if they do not comply with the AFL and it is hardly club that is oozing cash.

It is up to the AFL to pull their finger out and end this long running farce and make Collingwood wear a clash jumper.

So why didn't they stand up to the AFL ? What leg would the AFL have to stand on if the Roos took it further ?

Why would the AFL bother Collingwood to change their jumpers when a club rolls over and allows Collingwood to get it's own way.

Nice deflection Dutchy. By wearing the away jumper I'd say the rolled over...

And yep, after rolling over, back to the footy, and I think the Roos could be in for a couple of lean years. What's the status with Laidleys contract. Hasn't he got a stipulation he must be signed by July or he can walk ?

The AFL would have as many legs to stand on as it wanted! North Melbourne are the ones with no leg to stand on as its the AFL who owns the guernseys not the clubs. The AFL tells the clubs which guernsey to wear each week too

North Wont Finish Bottom, Melbourne have that. they will propably come out and beat the power this week, but they will still finish in Bottom 4.

They are in trouble Money wise again, they need people to go to their games. a profit of 1 million last year to maybe Breaking even this year, that is a big difference.

Interesting on 5AA last night Wayne Jackson thinks that in 5 years it will be the Melbourne Kangaroos.

Overtraining at Arden Street? Couldn't resist
