Is Collingwood the only club that counts it's captains?

Sounds like the President of the United States is being announced  (Refer separate thread regarding Collingwood's alleged self-importance  )

Seriously .... well done Nick ...... whoever you are

Only stirring Jimmy

Me not knowing much about him says more about how closely I follow other team's players, than it does about him

Good on the lad he must have impressed people around the club

to be honest i've never heard of him either, infact i immediately thought it was a joke with someone saying that the former soccer player was made the captain of c'wood
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Bit of a 'Tom Harley' selection, not the most skilled or flashiest player, but is courageous and shows great leadership qualities. Worst kept Collingwood secret since Tony Shaw's appointment though, let's hope this decision has a bit more success about it and we see the best of Maxwell in years to come.

Seriously, must have been a shortage of genuine candidates as this bloke is servicable at best.

If I was a Collywobble I would be worried about this appointment as it reflects poorly on the whole squad if Maxwell is the best person for the job.

Good times ahead, really good times ahead.

I understand where you're coming from Booney. I felt Maxwell had an average year on the field and we didn't see his best footy until the end of the minor round and finals. I think he is a genuine leader, but he needs to perform consistently well and lead by example.

He is about as good as Chaplin and he is talked about as future leader so lets hope he never skippers the power because that too would show a serious shortage of genuine candidates.
