Yes:
The reality, however, is that Collingwood is the Paris Hilton of the AFL. It is famous for being famous. One premiership in 50 years is not the record of a club that presumes the role of AFL superiority.

Just when you thought Punky had run out of reasons to hate Graham Cornes and Glenelg any more....

I hope the great man has fire insurance on his house...

Collingwood -

Glenelg -
87 years
14 GF's - 1 every 6 years
4 premierships - 1 every 22 years

Not disputing that, but you're not comparing apples for apples

The difference being that Glenelg don't go claiming themselves to be the greatest football club the universe has ever seen.

Carlton 16 premierships in 144 yrs = 1 every 9 years not 7.

Who cares about how often a team averages a flag? I'm personally just concerned with how often my side wins for me to see it. If i was a Collingwood supporter i would be pretty disappointed. 1 flag in the past 50 years. Rubbish football club on the field. Strong club off the field. If that is pleasing to the Pies supporters then good for them.

Because I relied on the history section of your website and maybe it should get its facts right

QUOTE
< 1970 Ken Eustice is Captain and Fred Phillis (107) reaches the century mark again.

1981 John H Ellers retires as President. Bob Campbell becomes President, Brian Corcoran is Chairman and Peter Carey wins his third Best and Fairest. Glenelg finishes second on the Premiership ladder. > UNQUOTE (which in English doesn't mean lost another Grand Final)

And when you play with statistics, it is very easy to select a period that suits your argument. You have been in ther SANFL for 87 years and we have been in the VFL/AFL for 116 years.

Face it - Glenelg's performance shows that IT is the most overrated sporting club and you pinup boy is the most overrated sporting (lack of) personality in SA. I only wish he had stayed coach of the crows so he could maintain his wonderful coaching record

Nice stats but what about the article? Anyone can work out some GF stats I want to hear what you think about the $8m loss?

Given that Graeme played in one of Glenelg's more successful eras and coached 2 of their 4 premierships he probably doesn't care too much about the 100 year comparison.

But, if we are talking stats. On Collingwood's, it's interesting to break them down between modern game and the B&W days:
- last 50 years: 11 GF's, 1 premiership
- before that: 28 GF's, 13 premierships
  ;)

Simple mate - we have it to lose it and will keep going on - we can absorb it better than anyone

What? We are the only ones making a loss in the world?
