Normally a thrashing sees a coach sacked, but after an insipid performance tonight against a travel weary Crows, the Dockers should hand Connolly his notice. Their game plan appears to be turn the ball over at all costs. Their skill level is very ordinary. The Dockers should have run over Adelaide in the last half but didn't. The tail is still wagging the dog with that lot, no strength at the top.

Adelaide's bad kicking was the only thing that kept Fremantle in the game. They are hopeless. 10 years in the comp: and have done nothing.
Connolly or Daniher who will be first????

I tipped in the preseason that Connolly would be sacked by about round 14 (see AFL preview topic in this section) but it looks like it will be even sooner than that.

I agree Connolly does not seem to be getting what ever his message is through to the players, also can't understand why he took Medhurst off at half time......

Encouraging signs for the Crows, they have played in four states in four weeks and sit three wins, one loss...

McGregor's game on Pav was outstanding, Joncock was sensational and I thought Massie had his best game for the club, Bode is getting better each week and Rielly is starting to show his worth, other then couple loose shots at goal....

One noticable concern for me is Chris Knights disposal by foot, in time he will be a good player for the club, but he needs to work hard in this area......

With Welsh, Mattner, Edwards, Bock all to come back in and our horror travel part of the draw out the way, things are looking positive

Know what you're saying but I'd be interested to hear from someone who may have a bit of inside info on how Chris Knights could have possibly lasted 'til pick 56 in the 2004 draft. Already looking like one of the steals of that draft.

I think it was something to do with an unusual type of knee injury, cant exactly think what it was, but i think it was enough to turn a few other clubs off him.

Then proceeded to get beaten by a brittle Essendon at home the next week to get booted out of the finals.

Connolly must be on shaky ground. So why did Freo lose to Adelaide? Come on, think about it....

The reason why Freo lost is that their forwards don't apply any defensive pressure. Once the Freo forwards lose possession of the ball they aren't interested. When a Crow forward loses a contest he fights like hell to keep the ball in the area. Medhurst is a complete waste of space, Farmer has no defensive skills at all, McPharlin is severly overrated, Pavlich has no vision at all...twice he marked the ball strongly and proceeded to kick the ball directly to a contest..something that Freo were losing all night long. On the second occasion, he looked up, appeared to think about it, then kicked it to a pack anyway. No defensive pressure from the forwards and down the other end it went. Stupid.

Connolly isn't a great coach but let's face it, he hasnt' really got that much to work with. It gets all too hard too soon for the Dockers.

Your right, their forwards apply little or no pressure but in saying that if they got the ball in a lot quicker it would give their forwards more opportunities one on one, this may also trigger stronger defensive action....

If I was playing in the forward 50 for Freo I would be very frustrated at the way the footy continuously comes in, they have great options up their but the footy comes in slow, side ways or just bomb in the air........

Freo to me seems to be playing for themselves, they lack a bit of spirit de corp, which is team spirit, I don't think the layers respect Connolly, I also don't think Harvey is the answer, but he is likel;y to get his opportunity

Then there are the fans who booed Adelaide for kicking the ball sideways and back, when it was the Freo players that were flooding the Adelaide forward 50. As S Rowe said last night 'Freo fans are uneducateded'.
