Joke of a delisting. Was a gun last year. There must be something we don't know about his knee or this is the worst decision ever by the Dogs.
SHAME!

Probably is more than we know but the way they play now, it's hard to see a spot for him and Daniel Cross in the same side.
Would have been a tough call for Eade and the Dogs but IMHO it's the right one.

We know his knee is part of a 34 going 35 year old body and his knee is not expected to get any better.
The Bulldogs finished 3rd but are a long way from a flag and as good a player as he has been it would be foolish in the impending pre-Gold Coast drafts to hold a bloke like him on your list.
I would expect when he spoke to Eade about playing on it would have been more in hope than anything.Pity,he misses out on his guard/s of honour.
7 B+F's,a few AA's and close to a couple of Bronwlows, I bet, like Harvey,he would swap it all for a Premiership medallion.

That's the crux. Last year.
Harsh bur fair IMO. With the Gold Coast coming in, clubs want as many good kids as possible in this years draft.
Westie is a true Bulldogs champion, and a great player, but football is a business these days and that's the way the
cookie crumbles....

As did Scotty Burns. Seems Harvey used them all up!

Great player!
I can't see anyone picking him up because his knee is only going to get worse over time - from what I've read and heard on the radio.

Good player but not great, I know for fact that most AFL clubs were very happy for him to get possesions when playing the bulldogs as he didnt hurt you

Anyone who wins 7 b&f's and comes 2nd in the Brownlow twice deserves to be named a great player IMHO

Didnt he actually win one but was suspended, or was that Scott Wynd?
Anyhoo, disgraceful by the dogs to cull a club great in such a manner..he should have been allowed to go out on his own terms.

SHAME!
The writing was on the wall. Gun two years ago, reasonably good last year, struggling this year.
Age does weary footballers.

the dogs should have been put down.....this guy played 320 odd games for the bullshits oh dogs i mean,,,,how many gfs did he play in......none but stuck it out as a TEAMMAN to try and get them into a gf...im sure in a good side he would have been a great player, one thinks that if he knew that this would happen when he WAS playing well would he have stuck it out...what next johnnos def got to go , hurt his knee this year, over 30, played over 300 games......they could have gave him one last year(as long as his knee was ok,which poss would have been by pre season)(in his opinion) and used him off the bench.....i hope the western bulldogs or whatever they want to be called end up bottom for the next six years as pennance....teddy would be turning in his grave. SHAME YOU DOGGS

Do you mean it is not all about winning premierships, and that teams should carry players an extra season beyond their capacity to be fully fit, out of loyalty, like the Crows did Ben Hart?
It is understandable that nobody wants to miss another year on $200K or $300K a season, but the club's need to field a fit team if they intend to win.
That's why players get paid so much - the end comes suddenly when the body starts to give out, and very few last much past 30.
