HIRD a rumour

Postby mal » Wed Sep 24, 2008 8:55 am

Former champion Essendon James Hird is considering a comeback next season
Hird who would be about 35 next season may play for the Dons in 2009.

My advice
Dont do it Jimmy

Without doubt one of the greatest ever to play for Essendon, but age does weary
Some of the percieved harder surfaces of the AFL in Perth/Brisbane/Telstra Doom might be too much for a middle aged man to play on.
Hird has some history of leg related injuries and at his age will be a risky proposition.

If he does play I would dearly hope this champion is a success.

Ditto, would hate to see him come back and not succeed.
Trust the process.

From what I've read, they talked about it over a few beers while they were overseas.

Blokes always get a bit carried away on the turps about what they can and can't, will and wont do when they get back home.

Given Hird's really thinking it's possible, which I don't think it is, I'm sure Knights would be hoping he doesn't have to make a difficult decision on one of Essendon's favourites.

You're slipping mally. Hirdy has already knocked this one on the head and it was written up in the Hun and the Hun is the little redhead kid who finds out everything last.
