2008 AFL GF Cats Vs Hawks

Postby the joker » Sat Sep 20, 2008 9:12 pm

its only the 3rd Qtr but time to look forward to next weeks game.
this reminds me abit of 2001 Gf. essendon Reigning premiers and Brisbane the young team.not many people gave the lions a chance. Geelong are alot better than the bombers that year though.

Will there be any Team Changes. Tom Murphy was left out with a sore back tonight, Hodge will be very sore all week. he apparently has cracked ribs.

If both teams go out there to win it and not try to not lose it, this could be even better than 1989.

Thank God these two teams avoided any upsets along the way to claim their rightful place in what should be a tough, tight Granny.

As is always the case, selection will be interesting this week with some doubts surrounding some big names on both sides

No, I've had a soft spot for the Hawks since I was a kid, as much as I ever followed VFL.
I probably won't even watch it right through, just the occasional check on progress.
I'm not a bandwagon man - proof - I've followed Norwood since 1957...

Hawks by 4 points with Ablett to miss a goal after the siren  . Hodge to get the Norm Smith.

i reckon Hawks can do this one, they have the more potent forward line if they explode on the day, their worry is their defence keeping Geelong to a score that they can reel in..midfields break even IMO, going to come down to Geelongs attack
