Some more ammo for the Tasmanian team?

Postby spell_check » Sat Sep 06, 2008 10:53 pm

While the weather in Sydney would have reduced the crowd a fair bit, there was still only 19,127 fans at the former Olympic Stadium. The 19,127 is just 0.4% of the total Sydney population, and supposedly fans stayed away because they thought they weren't going to win. Makes me wonder if the Western Sydney team would get more supporters than a Tasmanian team.

I blame the North Melbourne supporters who don't travel...

Hi Dutchy....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

The AFL seem to be hell bent on taking the game to people who aren't interested. A second team in Sydney would be a disaster, but the AFL will somehow make it work, even if it kills a couple of established Melbourne clubs. The AFL are almost to the "squeezing blood from a stone" stage. Once they get there, it will be all downhill after that.
