In the 15 years the AFL has used the final 8 system,Richmond has finished 9th on 6 occasions...how do their fans go on?

At least they've never lost a grannie by 119 points.....

at least this year they could place a bet on it, a few weeks out they were as much as $3.50!

Well if we keep lowering the bar(5 then 6 then they may fall in .If you cant win 1 game more than a 50% win -loss record lets face it you dont deserve any bad luck stories.

It is incredible how often they finish 9th, the win on the last day of the season sealed 9th again for them this year didn't it? Great effort that.

think they would be happy just to make one at the moment.

Richmond do comfort me greatly as a South Adelaide member, at least there are another group of Football club members that suffer!

I guess Richmond cant wait until the new teams come in then it will be a final 10 system.

I saw on the herald sun site that the AFL wants to increase the finals to 9 or 10 teams when Gold Coast enter the comp. SURELY Richmond couldn't finish 11th!

When there are 18 teams they'll go for a final 14. Anything to provide lots of finals games for Foxtel to sell advertising on.
They game may have to be cut down to 10 minute quarters though to fit the adverts in.
It will be just like 20/20 Cricket - Footy for the attention-span challenged.
