Had a very good run at the Lions but now it must be asked did he leave on his own accord or was he pushed?

Nah I think he left on his own accord. reading his comments....

Voss would be almost a certainty to get the job now....got to wonder if he new something was in the wings not to take the GC job

As a supporter I don't like the idea of Voss coaching us.
I don't believe in favourite sons coming back to the club and coaching - especially so soon after they've retired. I prefer an outsider with a fresh perspective (that's what Matthews was when he came to us originally) and without any mates at the club which tends to compromise your objectivity.

I don't think Voss is too keen on the idea either. watching that review show on ten on Saturday night he was pressed very hard about his coaching ambitions. Brisbane would be fools to give it to him anyway as he has even said he has no coaching experience yet and just wants to test it out to see if he is capable of doing the job.

Betting on the Brisbane job Dutchy?

I agree there mate. Maybe get Vossy in a few years time, but for the immediate future somebody fresh to the club would be the way to go.

I think that it may have been a case of either Lethal or Browny! They reportedly don't communicate all that well together. JB is a certainty to stay as Brissy now I reckon!

Brown re-signed as well so that theory certainly has some merit.

Great comment, would think ur right on the money there MC.
i know lethal has been great, but i think maybe a new coach would revitalise the playing group, especially blokes like black, brown, power etc. Leathal is by no means past his used by date yet tho. Should go coach @ a Melbourne based club or help GC through their inception period. Super football mind!!!!!

Word has it that Michael Voss has been given permission by West Coast to speak to the Lions about the coaching role. Apparently he has a get out clause with the Eagles if he has the opportunity to go for a senior coach role.

I heard the same thing today from a mate in QLD, Choco to coach Brisbane in 09.
Port fans will be happy with that!
