Are we better off focusing on the W2 home final and starting the finals campaign from there?

I guess the answer is you give it your best crack because you never know what will happen. Remember the Bombers v Carlton in 1999 prelim .... hey, we can all live in hope

You are basing that on if Essendon are kept to 50 points or under, the more points Essendon kick the more Saints have to win by. hey if the Saints acheive it they thoroughly deserve the spot

Yes, I just did some calcs on that .... I was going off the TV coverage where they said we were locked in 4th

If Essendon kick 80 points, St Kilda have to kick > 176. If the Bombers kick their season average of 100 points then the Saints need > 199 points. If they kick 60, the Saints need 155.

Unlikely, but possible. Oh well, take this thread as a hypothetical for 24 hours

Geelong had an off day in the Prelim last year and we still won. I believe that Geelong will go off like a firecracker in the next few weeks. The last few weeks have been a checklist which has duly been ticked off. Next week is the first time since Round 17 that we have had something to play for.

I agree unfortunately. Thy dont tend to havhe re bad days (barrin pies this year) . Mind you i reckon the cats will be more concerned playing the crows than almost anyone in the 8. Sad to say but Ijust dont think we will win. By the way ho good was yesterdays game! one of the best iv been to in terms of crowd involvement and excitement

Im going to be honest here mate. If the cows were thinking like that then they are piss weak!
But I dont think that will be the case, I reckon the cows will go out there with a nothing to lose attitude and have a crack, look at the last time you played them, learn from your mistakes. Theres every chance you'll lose but heck you never know what can happen if you have a red hot dip.

The way its looking at the moment, it won't be a Geelong v Adelaide QF.....

Listening to the end of the Adelaide v WB game on 5AA, I'd say KG counted about 25 as soon as they siren went, was almost in tears!!!

Granted,it may have helped Adelaide to a finals series,but they were going to play finals anyway,they missed out on 4th now their most productive forward is out for the year......good move Craigy.

He was always going to be out for the year once he had the surgery. It was just a question of how soon it became necessary, and he apparently wanted to play on as long as he could.
So, as long as he played and trained well enough he was still in, and when he reached the point where he had to give up, it happened.
