I posted this topic here, because it deserves attention from all AFL football supporters, not just on that dismal crows thread! 300 games 2x normsmith medals and he should have had the brownlow in 2001! He's been a champion of the AFL and a great leader to all indigenous people. let us know you best memories of Macca and tributes here!

What sticks out for me is the game early in his career against hawthorn in the wet, where he single handily stole the win with two awesome goals in the northern pocket. well done Andrew Macleod.

IMO This crows thread is poor and some posts should be on the regular board! shouldn't have moved it!!!!!!!!

Yeah, but they wouldn't check this thread and i dont blame them for not checking it, don't get me wrong cause you guys do a great job, but i think there should be one AFL SAFOOTY thread. Why was it changed? Yes you are going to get more crows and port comments, but isn't this site called SAFOOTY. A South Australian Football site.

You don't get any more average than Crows supporters ha ha.

You aren't going to get too many responses I wouldn't have thought. It is stating the bleeding obvious that the guy is a champion, arguably the best indigenous player in the game and right up there with the best Crows ever.

I will get shot down - but I reckon he's over rated.

And I have no justification for that comment, it's just how I feel.

All the games that people talk about and remember him for were in 1998 or earlier.

I'm happy for people to shoot me down - it's just my opinion.

I think he should go down as the best crow of all time and also the best Indigineos player of all time. He was all australian last year Dogwatcher, the only crow to make it in the team. His cosistancy is what has made him a champion. It would be neck and neck between him and Roo, but macca gets my vote. He may have another year in him too.

Fair enough to be remembered as a club legend.
And yes, you're right about him making All Australian last year.

Probably not the best indigenous player of all time..that would be Polly Farmer of Geelong IMO.

Yep good call on Wangas he could play. Never a favourite of mine though.

I concur REB.

Wangas > McLeod IMO...and easily

McLeod is a proven big-game performer (for his club and country), and has played a large chunk of his games at a very high standard.

Wangas probably better at his absolute best, but Macca better for a longer period of time. Dont forget Wangas had a lean patch for a couple of years.

Both very different players, but both still absolute champions.

Dutchy has an anti Port bias so that wouldn't come into it whatsoever.

Looks like very similar achievements thus far (between wangas and macca)- surely 2x norm smiths = 1 x brownlow

Id prefer the Crows over Port anyday!

IMO I would have preferred Wanga's, Essendon fans still love him from his days at the Bombers, could take the pack mark and kick more goals than Macca (not saying Macca isnt a good player BTW)

Wangas has more premierships also and the Brownlow...

sorry - just saw your tredrea photo and put 2 and 2 together. they have 2 x AFL flags each. Very simmilar achievements you'd have to agree though. Quite ironical i was thinking.....
