I thought Crows and Power topics had their own forums now

If so, why is there so many Crows and Port topics still here?

The Crows and Port boards are mainly for chat between the fans of those clubs, the AFL board is for general chat amongst all fans....so depending on the topic it might be moved between the 2 depending on what is the most appropriate

In other words - when people want to have a crack at either club they assume everyone wants to chat about it

If it's something supportive or positive then it gets buried in the club boards because only club supporters care

Trolling = OK on main board = not OK on club boards

:?

IMO - if we have club boards that's where the chatter needs to go. If its provocative or critical shouldn't change that - it looks like a dogs breakfast at the moment.

And I agree we will need a Bay 13 at this rate!

at the same time, it was decided that the Crows & Power forums were sacrosanct- no trolling/sledging allowed. Maybe that makes it insular, but that's the way it goes...

In other words, Crows and Power fans who are insulated from the external barbs directed at their underperforming football clubs by the parochial local media desperately need a place to hide here on safooty.net from the cruel and unusual punishment dished out the millions of fans of Victorian clubs who have waited for nearly a decade for the opportunity to dish out the cold dish of vitriolic retribution.

LMAO. Run away and hide Crows and Port fans.

But trolling or sledging is not technically allowed anywhere I thought?

Trolling is not the same as constructive criticism or negative commentary. I don't think the club boards need to be immune from negative comments (only immune from trolling). Everyone should be able to go in there and have a look and have their say surely? The moderating should be the same as it is anywhere else IMO.

If I started a "how great are Adelaide" thread in the main board - it will get shifted to the Crows board. If I started a "how weak are Port" thread on the Port board it will get shifted to the main board :? The Port sledge gets no more responses on the main board than it does on the Power board.

Still :? sorry Punky

Perhaps creating the separate Power and Crows boards was not the best idea.
Should it all just go back to the AFL board?

I don't like having sub-boards at all. Often I don't have much interest in the sub-boards, but I have to open the main board to find out it is only the sub-board that has a new post.
[The Crows sub-board is the exception, but I'd be happy if it was all just AFL.]

The Crows board was created because there isn't one anywhere else (BigFooty aside) for Crows fans to assemble. Admittedly it hasn't grown as quick as we would like but the experiment is worth pursuing to seasons end I would have thought.

The Port board was created to stop Port fans sooking because there is a Crows board and no Port board.

Any feedback on how they are moderated is appreciated and taken on board.

well, in the real world it happens- some stuff is acceptable, some isn't. It also depends on how it's presented

The quality moderating and lack of posters responses to troll based topics make this site so good. So,as we have in the past, dont feed the trolls and the site will continue to give us all a place to debate and discuss football without having to step over steaming piles to get there.

Well with all the crap that I read on this forum, the baiting, trolling etc, even the stuff that's STILL on here, I Honestly can't believe that my topic "Absolutely disgraceful" has been wiped of the map! At least I presented it with a bit of wit and sarcasm, surely anyone with some sort of subjective sense of humour could've understood that. What's more there's not even a PM sent advising of it, no communication surrounding the issues, nothing.
My intention was not to have a go at Port fans or stir up shit, merely to state a point, held in the media and this forum that Crows fans were SOFT that they didn't turn up to the Showdown in the numbers that didn't present the game as somewhat laughable which in the end the crowd figure was. That the "Crows fans Soft" topic is still on and subsequent topics are still on is a disgrace in it's self.
The whole definition of trolling is laughable on this forum, about as good as the AFL umpires "interpretation" is used as an "out" when crap decisions are made.
I hope someone from the mods, maybe the one who's wiped the topic can at least explain the issue. It's not even closed, just wiped.

I'd posted this somewhere else, but I think it disappeared with the recent site changes.
It seems apposite here anyway. We need a little brotherhood here at times.
