Tight race for the 8!

Postby Hondo » Sun Jul 27, 2008 8:49 pm

Has anyone else tried to predict the final 8 based on the last 5 rounds?

I make it as:

Geelong 21-1
Hawthorn 17-5
Bulldogs 15-6-1
North Melbourne 13-8-1
Adelaide 13-9 (prob optimistic)
Brisbane 12-10
Sydney 11-10-1
Richmond 11-10-1
---------------------
Collingwood 11-11
St Kilda 11-11
Carlton 11-11

Very tight! Pies to miss  I'd be interested in other people's thoughts ...

I believe you are almost spot on. I still believe Sydney can hold fourth even though they have a tough run. Kangas are up and down like a yo-yo so they could be anywhere

Surely the Saints can make it despite last round's stuff up.

Excellant to see that you have Richmiond up there. If they can keep Richo on the field they are a great chance, good to see them playing with a bit of passion.

As much as I talked up the Lions hopes earlier in the season, I think they're gone.
They've lost 3 matches they probably should have won - Essendon, Melbourne and Richmond.
With games against Hawthorn, Footscray and Sydney to come it will be very unlikely they make the 8.

I don't think Richmond will make the eight, they have a toughish run ahead

Depends on the Kossie Factor. if he is up and going they are a top 4 side. if he's not then they struggle*

* only exception would be the hawthorn game where he didnt play well yet the saints amazingly got up. That doesnt happen very often.
