This would ordinarily be in the stats forum, but wasn't sure if that was just for SANFL - Spelly; how long has it been since all games on the one day in AFL were decided by the same margin? All of the Sunday games were 28 point margins.

Not in the same day, but since 1985 (which is the V/AFL results I have on Excel), there have been 4 other occasions where the same margin occured three times in a round:
Round 6 1989 (8 points)
Round 20 2003 (14 points)
Round 6 2004 (1 point)
Round 17 2005 (13 points)

It's happened again - three matches this weekend were decided by 8 points.

And Friday is 080808

. The number 8 is very good luck in some cultures.

I wonder what are the odds of the game on Friday night with that margin.

What if the score were a draw, 8goals 8behinds apiece?
