Yeah right... Judd, Fevola and Brown would be over the salary cap just by themselves - let alone the other 35+ players that need to be included.

I really can't see him leaving Brisbane. It's like suggesting Brown and Pavlich will line up with the Crows.

Well keep laughing i won't stop you.
I wouldn't suggest Brown or Pavlich to the Crows, just Brown to Collingwood.

I doubt Brown will end up at Collingwood - why would he want to leave Brisbane? He has gone on record numerous times saying he loves the place. He won three premiership medallions there, plus he is captain (or joint, i can't keep up).

we're getting rid of all of them. Excess baggage they are!

I reckon there are about 4 teams that Brown could fit in:

Magpies, Richmond, North, Western Bulldogs

IMO the Maggies would have the salary cap to cope with Browny.

Western Bulldogs or North could afford him but Brown wont go to WBullies cos of Aka. North would be a massive recruiting coup, something they haven't been able to do - but also have a list that has aging slowish midfielders.

I just can't see it happening at Richmond, although with Richo retiring soon, Brown could fit in very well.

LOL !

Apparently Murphy is close/or has signed for another 2/3 years. Gibbs, Eddie, Jamo, Hammer & now Fev have also resigned. IIRC most of the other blokes are signed for nest year and beyond...

mmm...BANG ! There goes the theory about keeping the list....

Fev's deal would be back ended, as his last year he would be on the veterans list.

Ackland will be gone at years end there's another heap of cash too...

Come on down Browny

yeh, I can't see how we (circa 2010/2011) could keep all these guys - providing they keep progressing. If Fev has seriously taken 500k a year, he's sacrificed his price to stay with Carlton. That MIGHT be because they think they can get Browny as well, but personally, I can't see how he could fit in ($'s wise)

In Swann we trust... 8)

Thought about it too, but Juddy's deal would be front ended, to free up cash in a few years. Fev's would be back ended for the Veterans list.
Stevo has another 2 years left in him as does Scotto, so once they go it'll free up coin.

Apparently we filed the cap this year on the minimum allowable. A good thing...

Out highest earners last year or so were Whitnall, Ackland, Kouta & Lappo. They are gone or will be.

Fev is getting 500k supposedly which would be 100k less then what was expected so that's good....

If there is a way, Swanny is the man !!

This era we're coming out of should be known as the "what the fACK-LAND were we thinking" as a reminder to everyone of how stupid we actually were. Having him in the highest paid is a blight on the previous management, but anyway I digress. I spose I'm agreeing that Swann has a realistic view on things. Actually that should be holistic view.

Fev will hit the Vets list when, next year or the year after? 10 years isn't it?

It could be done, I just hope we don't make an unrealistic offer, just to get him over the line (ie, 5 years at a squillion a year). I think he's maybe got three in him max.

Can anyone point me to any official confirmation of Fevola signing with Carlton?

Greg Swann is just on SEN now and Fev has not been signed as yet. The offer has been put to Fev and they are waiting on the response.

I believe Brisbane only want to offer Brown a short term deal of 2-3 seasons with Brisbane having concerns over Browns fitness and longevity. Brown wants a minimum 4 year deal and it is believed Collingwood are prepared to offer him this. If Brisbane offer him a 4 year contract he will stay.
