It's Time To Go home to Norwood NC!!

Postby sturtpeter » Sat Jul 05, 2008 11:33 am

Left the Norwood Footy Club in 1979.

Deserted my beloved Double Blues as Captain in 1986, after an alleged argument with Coach, Mervyn Keane.

Joined the Roosters under another Sturt disloyal, Mike Nunan in 1987, delisted

1. Ian Perrie
2. Justin Torney
3. Scotty Welsh
4. Martin Mattner

He has underachieved, not getting 1 GF berth for the AFC.

Peter Jonas! First CD Premiership Coach after an agonizing 36 year wait.

Resign with dignity, please. Thanks!!! :(

Need to sit on your emotion for a bit Pete ... I don't know whether NC will ever lead the Crows to the promised land, but personally I think he's overachieved in his time there ... The biggest question mark hangs over whether he can re-invent himself now that most have worked him out.

HOWEVER .. The Crows don't have the list at present mate, and those players you've listed wouldn't have got them there either, think you might be overreacting to a loss against the best team in the nation.

Didn't he kick 1 goal 7 points against the Crows and he played a great last quarter when the game had to be won.

As a Norwood supporter I'd rather have Bob Hammond or Peter Rohde back thanks.

I think Craig has done a pretty good job in terms of winning % and competitiveness. But, he has the Crows playing very boring footy most of the time...

Mattner and Welsh weren't delisted, had better offers elsewhere. Swans gave Marty a longer contract and Welsh disagreed with the terms of his contract.
There's only 4 coaches that have got their teams to GF's since Craig's 1st year in 05, maybe the other 12 should all be sacked also. At the moment his coaching record with Adelaide is 81 games- 51 wins, 30 losses. Pretty good one would think.

From his time at Norwood Neil Craig was an exceptional teacher of players he got a team of children to a GF in 1993 but could never beat the physically stronger and experienced Eagles.
I believe Neil Craig has over achieved at the Crows with a very average list. The Crows recruiting over the last 10 years has been below average but he has develped average players into good ones.....not champions.
Geelong are so far ahead of the rest it is embarrassing and they play a style of football that I love to watch. That exhibition in last year's GF was magnificent.
On their day Hawthorn would be second and the Dogs third.......forget the rest as premiers.
