Not sure who it was but I too am suspecting the sledge was aimed at Kane. Reading between the lines and this is only my suspicion is that maybe the sledge had something to do with his son's health. Poor form by the Bulldogs player if thats the case and I hope a few senior players who may have heard it pull him into line quick smart.

Didnt Cornesy say what Montgomery said to Ramanauskas a few years back was funny and shouldnt be taken too seriously. Seem both to be along the same lines ie using sensitive personal information to put there opponent off there game. What did Cornesy say about all this?

KG & Cornesy are masters of double standards. If someone gobs off to one of their "favourites", it's called sledging and totally unacceptable. If it's one of their favourites (Chad, Kane, etc) doing the gobbing off, it's called gamesmanship, and you should be able to take it in a man's game.

I disagree AH

Obviously this issue is close to home for them but I haven't sensed double standards in the past when they have discussed other teams/players. A good case in point is the Selwood/Headland incident from last year. Same with any racial incidents. And especially no defending of Chad or Kane if anything they are overly careful not to discuss them.

Besides, I thought you haven't listened to them for 4 years, so how would you know?

Minson allegedly said something along the lines of "you're selfish for being here, you should be home looking after your sick kid".
Get Over It, big deal.

Your absolutely right AH, KG especially is the double standard king especially if its his favourites in Mcleod, both Cornes's & Ley Ley that are spoken of in any unacceptable way. W@&KER!

No it is not. If that is what was said it is a disgrace. Minson was interviewed on "On the Couch" and admitted he was embarrassed and very remorseful for what he said. Well done to him for doing that. He did the wrong thing but at least he had the balls to go on the record admitting he was out of line.

I guess times have changed. I played A Grade basketball back in the 70s and it was very competitive. The things that we said to each other would have made a marine blush, but after the game we just shook hands and had a laugh about it over a beer. What was said on the court stayed on the court.

That's all good and well but there is a line you should never cross. Only a very ordinary bloke would make such a comment as has been alleged and not be completely embarrassed by it. At least Minson is obviously very sorry for what he did. Storm in a teacup in some people's eyes but put yourself in Kane Cornes' position.

As if that comment would have caused Minson to publicly apologise and cause the reaction it did

Kane's first child was very ill and had several operations. His second was only 1 day old and there was no news of him being sick .... Anyone care to connect the dots as to what was probably really said? Or the vibe at least?

Remember the gist of Selwood v Headland last year. Most of SAFooty was in uproar at Selwood's comments about Headland's child. Now children are back in limts?

Anyway, regardless of whether or not it should have stayed on the field - at least lets not paint rosy pictures of what was said.

In my eyes there's a BIG difference between saying "look after your sick kid" and "I f$#@ed her last night" about a tatto pic of a 9 yo girl.

Yes there is ...

That's why I'm disputing your version of what Minson said .... you really believe that? If you're right then, yes, an over-reaction.

Did you know his daughter had been very ill most of her short life and it was touch and go for quite a while? Have you got kids yourself?

I have an 11 year old daughter who is my greatest love in life. If she was crook and someone said what are you doing here look after her I guess i'd be pissed cos they'd be right, I should be looking after her, BUT could accept it as sledging, I'm sure kane has sledged in the past. BUT If she had passed away or a reference to sex was made then whoever made it wouldn't walk off the park, they'd leave in a bodybag.

I guess we'll never know what was actually said and yes iirc both KG asnd Cornsey made light of the Ramanauskas/Montgomery incident, so I think they should not have mentioned this incident at all.
