Round 13: Brisbane vs Adelaide

Postby hearts on fire » Tue Jun 17, 2008 12:29 pm

After a tight tussle with the Hawks, we now know Adelaide can match it with the top sides.

This will be a huge test for them up at The Gabba but they are a big chance to get up.

I am going to tip Brisbane though, just because of the simple fact it's up at Brisbane.

Brisbane by 23 points.

I think the crows will win! Quietly confident after last weeks effort.
Brisbane have a great forward line and with bradshaw coming back in helps them but i think we have the back line to hold them as we nearly did to hawthorn.
Burton back into the side is a huge bonus for us across half forward and after 2 weeks off he will be cherryripe, prepare to be torn apart who ever is on him!!
Symes is also a chance to come in but might be worth giving him a run at centrals first and bring him in for the Geelong game. Also i think Trent is 1 more week away!
If radar and Bass dont get up for the game, then symes might come straight back in as there is not an obvious replacement for bass i can see!

The crows haven't got a bad record at the Gabba in recent years (except for the finals). If the Lions midfield get on top I reckon we'll win quite comfortably. My tip is Joel Patful to get the job on Burton. The only reason I hope Burton gets a kick is because he's in my dream team. Go Lions!

Reily and Symes don't even come close to measuring up to Bradshaw and Lappin. Lappin is one of the best players to play at Brisbane. Just a shame that his body gives out on him all the time.

Reilly is a quality player, but Symes is pretty ordinary.

Brisbane are obviously far better when Bradshaw is playing.
He'll be FF if he does and so you'd expect Rutten to play on him and Bock to take Brown.

Patful appeared to have potential at Norwood, but never delivered. Has he improved?
Still you could have said the same of Harley....

RE Reilly: I like him on the wing or back pocket but he doesn't quite convince me as a mid-fielder in tight situations.

Patful has been pretty reliable of late. He started his career at the Lions in the forward line, but like Merrett he's been moved into the backline and is playing some pretty good footy at the moment.

now why is that funny. Burton is all australian at the moment. Reilly is a good a reliable midfielder. and symesey had a very good start to his career with the crows.

RW you are very harsh on the crows

Bradshaw is a big in. Lappin has been an absolutely brilliant player but he hasn't played for 10 weeks and he will only play about 60% of the game if he plays, which appears unlikely. Rischitelli is a developing young player.

Get a grip. Burton/Reilly/Symes are pretty similar in terms of importance, if not moreso.

1. Patful is a very good player and gets one of the main shut down roles in defence every week.

2. Reilly is a far better player than you give him credit for. He was more of an outside player under Ayres but has really developed in a big ball winner and winner of the contested ball under Craig.
