Lloyd made comments along the lines of if the AFL isn't careful the fabric of the game could be harmed because players will stop delivering these sort of bumps for fear of getting games - and the hip & shoulder will be lost from the game.
The story is that the AFL may cite Lloyd for bringing the game into disrepute
But the game is already in disrepute!!
I have always favoured penalties for those deliberately aiming to injure another player to "take him out" of the game, by charging at a player already bent over the ball instead of tackling, but so many marginal ones are getting pinged now, where you launch the hip and shoulder and the other player bends down as you do so.
