Was pretty poor kicking for goal and the Crows looked flat, yet considering it could so easilly have gone the other way the four points is definatley a good outcome. Will need to significantly lift for next week though!

Essendon were competetive for the first 10 mins of each quarter, & looked better than the blackbirds in this period (due largely to the birds errant kicking), yet cost themselves the game by playing too defensively, even when up/down by a few points late in the game- they overused the ball, & when they coughed it up, the Crows were able to capitalise (I use the word in it's broadest context) quickly.
How has Goodwin forged an AFL career for himself being so obviously one-sided? Obviously his talents in other areas allow this to be over-looked, but really....
As I said in the Gambling room- the game would be played under slippery conditions affecting the skill level, thus making for a low scoring game. Blackbirds had 29 shots to Bummers 19- yet nearly lost.
Bad kicking is bad football.

For those of you never having had the pleasure of attending a blackbirds home game, (as a neutral supporter) let m tell you what your "missing"- out of the 42k crowd, a large percentage are football ignorant. Just going by the hysteria around me, the blackbirds were entitled to 163 free kicks without managing to give away a single one themselves- outstanding team discipline... also, anyone would've thought it was them who'd disposed of Geelong by 86 pts.... yeah, you won a close won, but against Essendumb FFS people, Essendumb- you know, the fav's for the WOODEN SPOON?

Crows will struggle to make the finals if they keep playing like that....relying on a first year player and your No. 1 target up forward isnt going to work all year...me thinks McGregor is back next

How has McGregor played in the backline for the Eagles? [It is the Eagles isn't it?]
Could he take fullback and free up Rutten for a key forward spot?
